I wanted to know if the compound bow one-shots or two shots weaker animals. That's really just it, or if there are any other better options.
Apart from chickens (one shot) it's more often two shots rather than one. I suspect one-shot kills depend on the position of the hit and a random chance factor, and possibly animal health status. I've had very occasional one or two shot bear kills with it, two is usually enough on the others.
Bow, crossy, compound bow all work well on animals, you just have to hit shots
