Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard,[a] is a media franchise created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara[1][2] and owned by the Japanese video game company Capcom. The franchise focuses on a series of survival horror games and incorporates live-action films, animations, comic books, novels, audio dramas, and merchandise. The story follows outbreaks of zombies and other monsters created mainly by the Umbrella Corporation.

Now that the OP is out of the way.
Anyone here play the 1 shot demo yet?
I played some of it and loved it, though i didn't beat it because of the timer but from what i played it was really great plus it's tense as hell.
One moment that got me the most during my playthrough was when i got trapped in the news room with 3 zombies coming at me, managed to take one down with enough room to escape but i ended up getting ambushed. The sound design is just incredible as well, zombies are fucking creepy in this especially the noises they make, bone chilling.
Is there a way to make it not one shot yet?
Yeah http://www.pcmrace.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Resident-Evil-2-One-Shot-Demo-Plus-4-Trainer.zip
You'll need a fresh account that hasn't played it yet though, but easy enough to make.
They should have released the demo the weekend before official release. I don't wanna wait, or make a new steam account.
Finally a thread to talk about this!
Played the 1 shot demo yesterday morning and it was pretty sick. The zombies look and sound fucking amazing and you gotta love the hit reactions. Aiming also isn't as easy as I feared, atleast on a controller. Really like how dark and moody everything seems to be so far! I'm seriously hyped about this game and I hope the entire campaign will be this good. I need something awesome to scratch that survival horror itch.
Gamestop had this amazing deal again where you can hand in two old games and get the game for 9,99€, which is what I've done. If things go the same way they went when Red Dead Redemption 2 released, I'm going to get the game a day early. Can't wait for it!
What the hell are these?

Also finished the demo earlier myself, it's pretty neat. The 30 minutes is actually generous if you're just trying to clear it, but it definitely sucks for those who want to explore more. I'm just glad workarounds already exist for it.
Really optimized well, looks great, the gore is visually fantastic and the game feels good to control. Definitely getting this on release.
I think you can just replay it using multiple accounts on PSN, so that's what I'm planning to do first thing tomorrow. I finished the demo with like 11 minutes left but I never got to try out the shotgun cause I thought I would meet the licker and I didn't want to waste any
ammo on regular zombies
The aiming still feels tricky too with a mouse in the best way possible. The reticle responses well to your mouse movement which is good, but to counteract easy aiming and headshots, shots aren't 100% precise on the center of the crosshair and you still have to position yourself well at a reasonable distance against an enemy. I actually had a few tense moments where I started to get surrounded by more than 3 zombies and couldn't get well placed shots so I had to run away since ammo count is also pretty low. Plus the zombies themselves being usually beefy helps too in giving you a decision between flight or fight.
As an old school Resident Evil fan, I liked the demo a lot; the visuals are fantastic and I personally love how dark the environments were. Problem; at least on the demo's difficultly level I didn't find the zombies challenging or threatening at all, but I'm hoping harder difficultly levels will really push you to survive.
There's a trainer circulating around that can freeze the timer on the steam version and two other methods, here's the discussion i found on it. (Wouldn't recommend trying out the trainer method for obvious reasons)

On the console version you basically just have to make disposable accounts for the fresh 30 minutes.
Beyond that, that's all i got for ya.
Why... wouldn't you use the trainer?
It's just my paranoia.
you can use it i just strongly recommend take a bit of caution in using it due to the trainer maybe having malware, viruses or ransomware . Some of those tend to have it packed in.
Use at your own risk basically.
Played the demo earlier today and was pretty impressed by it visually (the amount of graphical options is nuts!). Not a huge fan of the UI they went with, specifically the inventory. I didn't like it in RE7 and I don't care much for it now.
Sound design is nice though the gun report is pretty underwhelming (again, something I didn't care for in RE7).
Oh god, finally saw the trailer that comes after the demo. Looks like they're going to play up the fact that Birkin put a g creature in his daughter other than her being like, slightly sick and incapacitated during the later part of the game
Loving the gore effects.

Mostly tinkered with the graphics options. Everything looks and runs pretty well, except the screen space reflections. I was hoping they would have fixed those after RE7, but they seem even worse.
I kinda found myself playing the game like Dead Space. Shooting a leg accurately is much easier. Costs less bullets when compared to shooting them in the head.
is there any way to actually solve the medallion puzzle? it seems like you can only get 2/3, and when you get back to where to slot them, the demo ends no matter what.
Apparently someone did some digging in the demo's files. Take it with a grain of salt, but just in case I'll link the image in case of spoilers.

I have never heard of Rogue mode. Is there any source on Capcom teasing it?
From the name I'm guessing it'd be a rogue-lite, kinda like Ethan Must Die.
I really like the shooting and overall third person gameplay, it feels really good but at the same time I really do miss the fixed camera. I've always thought it has worked better for RE and horror games in general although maybe I'm being too much of a purist idk
Best way to introduce the damage of lickers is that cop with his mauled off face
This clip alone convinced me to get the game.

I mean I'm right there with you; I was super angry when they showed off the new remake using the OTS camera; but I will give Capcom credit and a lot of effort seems to have gone into this remake even if it's not the true remake I was hoping for like REmake/Resident Evil 1.
I have heard people saw during development that Capcom was testing out fixed camera angles with this new game. I'm still hoping that maybe there'll be a secret unlockable or update/dlc included later, but I'm probably just too old to let go of the past.
I loved the fixed camera angles too but the originals will always be there, and the tech with the overall visuals, animations and gore in the remake is really exciting so it's nice to see RE:2 re-imagined like it is. Something familiar yet also new and fresh.
Full price well earned, especially for the soundtrack swap.
Not QUITE a fan of having it sooo doom3 dark, but ok. Technicaly, it stutters every now and then for some reason, but I suppose they'll fix that later.
I'm genuinely impressed that this game still runs at a high frame rate on a base PS4.
Was in the original too.
