Might as well post about it here but the demo is fully playable to anyone who didn't know.

There's a 30-minute timer that counts down whenever you're actually navigating gameplay but you can get infinite time with this trainer http://www.pcmrace.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Resident-Evil-2-One-Shot-Demo-Plus-4-Trainer.zip

One of my favorite channels.
The zombie at 0:19 falling over and just laying there like "welp, guess I'm taking this L" is incredibly funny to me
Will be interesting to see if they manage to make slow and stumbling zombies scary in a game that doesn't have shitty tank controls and where you can see further than 1m front of you.
From my experience of the demo so far they got this nailed this feeling well. Zombies are very beefy, don't count on killing them with a knife or pistol unless it's a critical headshot. Even headshots aren't a guaranteed 1-hit kill because they can probably just graze through and you have to pretty much ensure the head explodes into a goopy mess most of the time to know they won't get back up again. Ammo count is scarce, forcing you in a lot of fight or flight situations. It's surprisingly easy to get surrounded by zombies, and even if you outrun them, they'll block your path one way or another, forcing you to either find alternative ways or luring them into somewhere else.
Even aiming with a mouse on PC isn't an easy experience. It feels very responsive and snappy which is good, but the actual shooting mechanics and ballistics are balanced in a way so that to make sure your shots land, it requires you to get close unless you want to waste ammo.
I can imagine this will even get more intense on the full version with the different types of enemies and potentially even large hordes of zombies.
Demo renewed my faith in zombie games tbh. I was actually pretty tense while playing with how dark the environment was and how quickly ignoring zombies can become a disaster if you're not prepared or run into a dead end.
You know I decided to try out the aim assist mode, and even with it zombies are still hard to kill. Makes me even more excited because now you can backtrack and fight the same zombies, with them getting more and more fucked up as you continue to beat the crap out of them.
I would absolutely love a Dead Rising game with this tech that is slower paced like this. Maybe not over shoulder, but the atmosphere is so good.
The zombies are actually scary which caught me super off guard.
They actually tank shots and feign dying
Reminds me of what they said dead island would look like prior to launch.
this game deserves every single penny it's going to get
holy shit
I live for games with cool niche tech features like this gore system.
I like the 10 minutes played achievement. Is this going to be as scary as the original?
I don't remember this getting posted on the forums.

That "Thud thud thudthudthudthud" walking sound.
Sound designer needs a raise.
Love how he shoves the zombie out of the way at 1:35
Fruitlessly dragging a knife across a fat cop's belly was really something.. Rarely do you get that dreaded sense of "cold dead meat" from a zed shambling towards you.
the graphics and effects go such a long way towards making the zombies as scary as they are. like the fact that the game uses photogrammetry scans of real people, and shooting them has such realistically horrible effects, makes it super weird and frightening when they just tank through it like uh, video game enemies.
I think the most impressive thing is how they (seemingly) seamlessly transition from ragdoll to animation. That's the kind of tech that really can open up so much possibility in the future. You could get some seriously diverse gameplay scenarios with that kind of tech in many different types of games. Imagine a zombie could grab you while in a ragdoll state; because there's some animation behind it? Or how about it grabbing onto the scenery, knocking stuff over or picking up items on the way down?
Please, more physics based tech...
Really hope as well this current generation of tech would put a large focus again on physics stuff. There's bits and pieces of recent games that provide some impressive physics stuff but compared to the middle of the 7th console generation with stuff like these being in the forefront, it's a bit lacking in comparison.

Something like Euphoria for games but more open sourced (iirc Rockstar is able to get Euphoria for their games because they already built a lot of things based on the engine, but Euphoria itself is not easy or cheap to license or implement since it requires a lot of middleman software).

But yeah kudos to Capcom for going the extra mile in the animation and physics details for RE2 so far, the RE:Engine's capabilities seems like it could be a good start again on encouraging other devs to start implementing similar techniques.
Played the demo yesterday and...damn.
This is a true return to form in the best way. This is gonna be one of my favorites of the year.
Ok, with how Mr X functions, as well as a bunch of nods to RE3 gameplay systems, there is no WAY a third remake isn't in development already
Considering they can reuse a lot of assets they'd be foolish not to IMO. RE2 and 3 have massive reputations and there's a whole generation of people who have little chances to play them, outside siblings/parents keeping old consoles or emulation.
Nemesis would be crazy in a semi-open world environment.
I'm looking forward to seeing the condescending articles trying to explain what an ink ribbon or film roll is.
Finally my sick fantasies have been realized and the tech from The Torture Game has finally been translated to 3D

Actually funny you mention this there's going to be a VR game (non-VR version confirmed too) that is focused on dynamic gore and deformation that might be closer to the idea of this flash game
