Good. Germany needs to stop pussyfooting around with Russia.
It's long past time that we could try and get Russia involved with being part of the Western world - Putin has put paid to all of that. Any merging of Russian and EU energy markets is simply giving Russia control of our energy in the event of war, which is more likely in the last few years than any other time since the fall of the Soviet Union. Handing Putin strategic initiative, which he already has in spades. I guess it's honorable enough to keep trying and pushing for economic alliance with Russia, but the horse is long since dead and there's just no point in keeping on with the flogger.
