I've always heard (from seemingly credible people, not mates) that TSA is 90% security theater.

I watched a defcon video once where a guy bought a bunch of items from the stores after you're screened, took them home, and made a bunch of improvised weapons to prove how easy it is. We're talking improvised firearms. We're talking turning drones into remote triggers for bombs that you could theoretically detonate from anywhere in the world. It was wild, I was the video was up but it's been taken down for pretty obvious reasons.

I doubt it'll only affect TSA, improvised weapons are known to be difficult to detect because of how crude they are, and with enough skills, they could disguise them to look like everyday items.
