The site is in Collier Township, Pennsylvania at one of the highest points in surrounding Allegheny County. It was home to U.S. Army Nike Ajax and Hercules surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery in the 1950s and 1960s. It's worth noting that the Nike Hercules missile system could be armed with a nuclear warheads.  Figured I should post some good news for once.
Make beer, not bombs, man.
Well, when missiles aren't in style you gotta go with something even more dangerous.
Boosters to brewsters
Warheads to beerheads
To be fair, the Nikes were a defensive missile not an offensive missile and only the Hercules variant were armed with nuclear warheads. The whole nike program was pretty nuts as far as concept and implementation goes. they were supposed to be terminal interceptors hitting warheads at the last possible moment.
