lets just, yknow, tell any institution besides the US to fuck off
After Trump the President needs a scaling back of power. Give exclusive control of treaties and other international agreements to Congress.
Just hand the fucking launch codes to Putin already, you malignant whore.
Hmmm

Not really, we just need someone that doesn't makes shit like this.
Hmmm, I thought this country could have power to forcefully disbanded NATO since they created it but I think Trump forget they can do that in snap.
I'd say it would be ridiculous for the US to pull out of NATO, essentially guaranteeing an increase in Russian aggression in eastern Europe, but then you remember that Trump is in deep with Putin's interests so it only makes sense. Fortunately I can't see this actually happening any time soon.
Is there not some middle ground before impeachment of "yeah this guy is pretty shady and screwing things up, let's not let him make any drastic changes for now"
Nothing but the 25th Amendment in case the POTUS is incapacitated, but that needs the Cabinet and it's all Trump stooges.
Yeah its actively working, the "checks and balances" of the three branches of US government work surprisingly well considering they were written up about 250 years ago. The House majority being in Democrats hands is going to put a block on a lot of this shit. It already has, hence the shut down...
The President of the United States is a Russian asset.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the US pulling out of NATO would be incredibly beneficial to Putin's government and this is something Tinyhands has come up with for reasons that are definitely all his own and have nothing to do with the huge mess of Russian connections to his campaign and personal life and business ties since the early eigthies
Definitely not a Kremlin asset, nosiree. No chance of that. Absolutely nothing to be suspicious of. It's not like he's had multiple closed door meetings with Vladimir Putin that he's gone to great lengths to keep secret or anything
Russia directly attacking NATO through trump.
Fucking hell.
Yes. Republicans refuse to use it.

Treaties and international agreements are in control of Congress. They control whether they can pass or reject a treaty, as well as fund a treaty's needs.
But the President is the Commander-in-Chief and head diplomat of the nation. He controls the actual implementation of the treaty with the funding from Congress. This is where having an insane president becomes a problem.
Someone stop this man before he does something we cant fix
The complete decay of democracy in the US with this ass hat in power alongside Brexit to slowly dismantle NATO from the inside
Im not trying to be a ~conspiracy theorist~ but with everything going on at the moment I wouldn't put it as surprising.
Putin hard-on intensifies. Anyone who supports the US pulling out of NATO is out of their fucking minds.
Real question: Has Trump done ANYTHING that has NOT benefit Russia since taking office?
I don't think people realise the benefits of being in NATO ASIDE from the obvious russian deterant, it just seems like a massive step backwards for the US to leave NATO
good luck to all those US airbases and missile sites in Europe
I'd imagine not a single person in Congress except Rand Paul wants us out of NATO.
Can trump just announce this? I feel like any day now he's just going to "announce" this and expect it to take effect, I really hope it doesn't.
Well, there are the things he did to benefit Saudi Arabia, benefit the UAE, benefit himself and his family members, signed a nothingburger agreement with North Korea... so, yeah, there are things that he's done that don't directly help Russia but cause chaos that indirectly furthers Putin's aims.
The funny thing is that this is something that he does all the time. He proclaims that a thing is happening and literally everyone, including his own staff and cabinet, are surprised. He has no plan for how it will be done, he has no idea of the consequences let alone looking into what they may be, he just says it off the top of his head and expects his underlings to implement it.
And, according to former White House staff, Trump has repeatedly been told that X thing he suddenly decided he wants to do is illegal and cannot be done the way he wants it done -- they're then tasked with figuring out a legal way to achieve the end result or the next closest thing, such as the muslim ban that turned into a travel ban from a suspiciously specific list of Muslim-dominant countries but noooot Saudi Arabia or anywhere else Trump does business.
All Trump's staff have to do to keep the USA in NATO is to lie to Trump and tell him that pulling out of NATO has a minimum wait of two years between announcing it and doing it, the same way the US can't actually withdraw from the Paris Agreement for two years. The long timespan between announcing it and payoff will discourage him because his capacity for delayed gratification is nearly zero.

And if nothing changes theres nothing stopping another trump getting elected.
Russian plant or not, it can't really be helped to think that literally every single action Trump is taking now feels like it's trying to destroy the federal system from the inside-out. I wonder if he'll ever realize he can't just throw money at everything to magically fix the damage he's done. Or if he'll just leave everything a burning wreck and he'll leave everyone to fix his crap.
Is it a conspiracy theory when it's a published geopolitical strategy by a Russian author (whose name I can't remember)?
It depends on the person. I mean, we wouldn't give this much control to a kid, because a kid isn't suitable for the job. The problem is that the US picked THE worst person possible.
