Unpopular opinion, these have gotten pretty boring. I always watch hoping for another history video or something in that vein.
I still like his stuff, but I do also hope he'd make something similar to his history videos again yeah
From an outside point of view, I can see where you're coming from; but if my memory is correct, he's always leaned more into the "freestyle musical shitposting" category.
His two "history of" videos, while undeniably fantastic, are very much not the norm for his content, and I feel bad for the people who found him through those that were expecting him
to make that sort of thing on a regular basis. I agree on wanting to see more videos in that vein, but I don't really know what else he'd do one about; maybe history of the united states?
I think he doesn't have to restrict himself to just history, but rather anything similar would be great. Any topic under the sun with his comedic and educational style would probably work. Even if they're just shorter videos rather than something as extravagant as history of japan and the world.
The thing I love about his music is his compositions are really strange and spastic at times but it all works somehow. It feels like a new phrase can begin or end at any point and totally switch the groove.
I like his more traditional songs. Long, Long Way came out recently and was really good, imo.
I am aware of his massive back log of songs and I know the history vids were one offs (and clearly incredibly time consuming), but he's shown he's capable of creating more deep and engaging content beyond catchy songs about nothing/anything that comes to mind.
I don't expect the guy to change on my account obviously, but wanted to throw my opinion out there to see if it was just me or not.
