The Senate on Wednesday narrowly rejected a Democratic-led effort to block President Trump from lifting sanctions against three Russian businesses.
Senators voted 57-42 to end debate on the resolution, falling short of the 60 votes needed. With all Democrats supporting the measure, they needed to win over 13 GOP senators.
The Trump administration announced plans late last month to relax sanctions on the three businesses — Rusal, EN+ and EuroSibEnergo — connected to Oleg Deripaska, an oligarch
with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Under the 2017 sanctions bill, Democrats are able to force a vote on a resolution to block the administration from lifting the financial
penalties.
Wednesday's vote hands the Trump administration a win after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was dispatched to Capitol Hill to lobby Congress to squash the resolution.
GOP senators, who backed the resolution, say they were unconvinced that Deripaska wouldn't maintain considerable sway over the companies under the Treasury Department's plan.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) knocked Democrats on Wednesday accusing them of trying to blow up an agreement negotiated by the Trump administration in order to "make
a political splash." "Political obstruction is their top priority. Everything else follows from that," McConnell said.
Traitors commit treason.

calcutta's black hole would be too good for these treasonous fuckwads.
At this point there's three options for the Republican brass. They'll end up either:
-The Russo-American oligarchy
-In prison
-Executed by rioters
But guys we don't want to start a war with Russia
why start a war with russia? just lock up all the goons who got any benefits from russia in the first place in a cage in public
no nice jail cells behind prison walls for them, just a secure cage in public for people to throw all the rotten produce they want on them
What could they possibly gain from lifting sanctions on Russia, I wonder quietly to myself...

One of those business donated 10 mil to Paul Manafort.
The GOP is complicit and this election cycle the message they have sent to the international community is that it's easier than anyone ever imagined to undermine the US. All you have to do is pay the GOP
No quarter for them, we must remove the ironic red menace that has infiltrated our government.
I will dance in the streets when these spineless, worthless human beings get what's coming to them.
no guys, you don't get it, this is that four dimensional chess trump is so good at. he's so hard on russia that he's letting them know how little he cares about russian business by lifting sanctions!

Go. Fuck. Yourself. Go fuck yourself, you decrepit, spineless, useless, ball-sucking, worthless piece of fucking shit garbage fire.
Addison Mitchell McConnell is the absolute worst politician to ever come out of the state of Alabama.
GOP are Russian collaborators and saboteur, having sold their souls for profit.
Everyone of them are complicit.
Can't manage to pay federal employees, but we can manage to pay Oleg Deripaska.
Congressional Republicans are complicit in aiding and abetting a hostile foreign power.
Apparently people are a bit miffed that Bernie Sanders did not vote on this measure.
I just hope that at the end of the day, the republican party will never be allow power again, they the party has sealed it's fate with all the harm they're doing to America. Can you even imagine the progress if a 3rd party because the other half of our two party system?
This is just about the worst thing we could possibly do. The Russians are actively trying to sabotage the west through subterfuge and cybernetic warfare. These sanctions, however, combined with the drop in oil prices have completely strangled the Russian economy and really made them feel the pressure.

As we fucking should be. This was an absolutely critical juncture for our democracy and our national security. There is absolutely no excuse for Sanders not attending and registering his vote. Even though his vote would not have changed the outcome, it is beyond important that we present an unbroken and unquestionable front on this issue. Russia is waging war on our nation. The GOP may have abandoned their constitutional oaths to defend our nation against these attacks, because they are the beneficiaries of them, but let there be no question whatsoever as to where the rest of the nation stand.
In failing to attend and vote to uphold the sanctions on individuals connected with the acts of war against the United States, Bernie Sanders made it appear as if this is a divisive or fracticious issue, even among Democrats. I absolutely guarantee you that this will be a core component of Republican campaign ads, GOP state propaganda, and Kremlin propaganda aimed at inciting further public distrust of our institutions of justice and intelligence agencies.

Sanders's 2016 campaign manager Tad Devine worked in Gore's and Kerry's campaigns, but also worked with Paul Manafort and Rick Gates to elect the Ukrainian president currently exiled in Russia wanted for
treason. It would be heartbreaking to know Sanders was pushed by Russia to divide Democrats.
