Mortal Kombat 11 is an upcoming fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
It will be the eleventh main installment in the Mortal Kombat series and a sequel to 2015's Mortal Kombat X.
The game is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The Confirmed Roster:
Scorpion
Sub-Zero
Raiden
Sonya
Baraka
Skarlet
Geras
The Unconfirmed Roster (may or may not be playable):
Liu Kang
Kung Lao
Kabal
Cassie
Johnny
Kitana
Cronaca
Glad to see Skarlet is back. Same with Baraka. I just hope Tremor returns as well. Dude was so cool.
Still no Noob or Smoke. I cry everytime.
I wish Raiden wasn't bad, also they better be saving Jax for a future reveal
I think the only change I seem to be on the fence about so far is that they removed running from MKX
I don't hate that they removed it, but I liked the option of having it.
As long as the game's balancing does't result in zoning characters being top tier (like how Injustice 2 apparently got), then I'll be excited for the game. And hey, at least the PC port and netcode should be good from day one this time around.
do not be sad, for they have already been seen

I gotta say I'm worried about Reptiles inclusion, considering Steve Blum is voicing Baraka now and he's using the exact same voice he used for voicing Reptile in MKX.
For some reason I feel like it's too soon for a new MK. I never even picked up Injustice 2. I wonder what launch titles the PS5 will have.
4 years is too soon ?

Some Skarlet pics
That kold war skin is just unfair, man
Remember those match modifiers in MKX, like Stryker assist and Kabal assist?
Yeah well....
Anyone feel like the game's graphically inferior to MKX? The lighting isn't as gritty and everything looks a bit too bright unlike MKX where the dark lighting and atmosphere really made the game look a lot more cinematic.
I think X was leaning a bit too much on the gritty and realistic side imo, I love how much more colorful and exaggerated 11 is turning out to be.
I don't know if the character select screen design is final but if it is I love it, not that there was anything wrong with MKX's style but I really prefer the classic arcade-style vertical portraits with the close-ups of each character at the side.
MKX's css was a weird in-between. MK's classic side portraits can't really be beat, and Injustice's css where the characters smack eachother in slowmo Before the match is goofy and awesome, but aside from the models changing to show what style is chosen, MKX's was weird and had the characters just growl at eachother before wandering off.
This image was posted before but people have been looking into it closer

That's a fatality screen, complete with the red "FATALITY" text in the center, and very clearly Johnny on the left. So yea, he's (ofc) playable. Shocker.
Now just confirm reptile and noob and I'll be happy.
Alright yeah, I'm guessing it was because I watched the trailers on stream on my phone.
The game looks way better now on my PC screen.
Oh man is that another selfie fatality?
I'm a bit miffed that x-rays aren't incorporated into fatal blows as some of those slow mo heavy hits look pretty awkward like when fuckloads of blood spurts out of Skarlet's face when Sonya stomps on her which could've easily looked much more ouchie by showing an x-ray cam
The new style of fatalities omitting final frame poses in favor of mid-carnage outro-style frames are pretty damn dope though
Fatal Blows are basically just NRS yoinking the Rage Art system from Tekken 7 and implementing it to add "more hype" to matches, probably to interest spectators more.
I totally get it. Drawing in spectators has been the main problem with NRS games at fighting tourneys ironically enough. To the point where back in that EVO poll that brought back UMvC3 for a bit, MKX was dead last by a large margin in terms of results for games people wanted to see back at EVO that year. The games just being more realistic in tone and presentation does very little to excite spectators, and lets be honest, most of us become numb to the game's gore after at least the first week.
They're fine games (I've never played the Injustice games though) and stupid fun to play at times, but they just don't have the crazy excitement and tension that other fighting games ooze through their presentations.
What I'm both interested in and sort of worried about is that general opinion on the game from those who have played it so far seems to be the game is a fair bit slower than MKX and more neutral heavy/methodical. That definitely won't help with the spectator issues. The only game that could get away with being slow was SFIV, and that's because pretty much every hit mattered in that game so there was a lot of tension and comebacks could happen at any point.
They probably did that to differentiate Fatal Blows from the Crushing Blow system they added and to also make flashy looking supers that aren't limited to 2-3 slow-mo hits (Like Geras' FB)
Fatal blow system makes sense. They said that most people weren't using Xrays because you had to save your meter and not use defensive or offensive burns. So now they have us offensive and defensive meters that automatically refill and a super that's tied to health. I like it.
Where's my main man Quan Chi and my other main man Stryker at
Does the roster not seem as interesting this time around? Like, I'm glad to see so many familiar faces but no one really stands out to me. We need more freaky monsters like Baraka and less human characters.
I swear to god if we don't get Stryker
luckily, Kabal seems to be in, so one of my two is back
Geras is probably going to be the best fighter ever created.
