Never played a game like this before, but I think I've always wanted to? Fighter jets in Battlefield 2 seemed so cool to me, I even bought a DirectInput flight-stick (that I used like 3 times). Then I tried BF3 and the combination of mind-blowing visuals (at the time, after I saw how Frostbite looks with PBR, it's hard to see non-PBR stuff the same way) and the sound design reignited that in me.
im emulating 4, 5 and 0 in anticipation and they hold up really well. sometimes tho it feels like friendly AI never really do anything, and holy fuck do they need to shut up about having somebody on my six. i wish the multiplayer had more interesting modes to it too, ive never really been a fan of just straight up deathmatch. also belka did NOTHING wrong.
Ace Combat 7 is simply fucking glorious.
I've pre-ordered the PC version
All in all ace combat 7 is a solid addition to the series, just like the previous ones the soundtrack is godlike solid. in my opinion this is the second best ace combat, best one being ace combat 5. if you want the complete lore experience and catch all the refrences that point towards the older games i recommend playing 4 5 zero 6(if you can stomach it) then 7, but AC7 can also be enjoyed on its own.
Assault Horizon had this crazy invasion mode where both teams had to hold eachother off while also attacking enemy ground forces. A payload-esque mode where one team is trying to hold back and invasion and another is covering said invasion would be amazing.
Also 0 is meant for multiple playthroughs, Which I didn't understand when i first got it years ago, and constantly got the mercenary style and bitched about the game only being like 15 missions.
