She claimed to have insider information and video evidence regarding the 2013 Trump trip to Moscow, where intelligence services believe prostitutes were sent to his room to produce blackmail material of him. She was arrested in Thailand last year, and begged the US to save her, promising to share her information and evidence in exchange for asylum. Yesterday, Thailand deported her back to Russia, where she immediately attempted to board a plane out of country, but was physically dragged from the airport by Russian officers.
We will never see her again.

Ms. Vashukevich, who described herself as close to the Russian aluminum tycoon Oleg V. Deripaska, said that audio recordings she made in August 2016 included discussions he had about the United States presidential election with people she declined to identify.
Mr. Deripaska, a billionaire with close ties to Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, also has business ties to Paul J. Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman.
Financial records show that companies controlled by Mr. Manafort owed millions of dollars to Mr. Deripaska. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Mr. Manafort offered to give Mr. Deripaska private briefings on the campaign.

She should've asked for the ol' maple syrup and then revealed what she knows once she was safely within our borders. She'd still need protection but she wouldn't have been deported to Russia where if she's lucky she'll get the gulag treatment.

The video of the abduction is absolutely brutal to watch.
While its terribly sad about her case, the way she phrased it, sounded more like she was hoping for a get out of jail card in a hasty decision.
For one, she made an insta video about the recordings while she was caught, sitting at the back of the police vehicle. Why hasn't she made that decision earlier on, and only done it after she was caught for abusing her tourist visa? It screamed to me that she was hoping she could gain asylum or refugee status before anything.
Now, I am aware she was connected with some of the important people in Russia's politics, but the fact that she had no evidence to bring to the table, and the fact that she announced it after she was arrested, gave me the feeling she had nothing to show. I'm more than certain that if she did, government officials would had tried to find out more about what evidence she could had given.
The way I see it, she made a very hasty decision hoping that she could get a 'get out of jail card', and the attention she received, might had helped her with her career. It felt like she signed her own death warrant, because chances are, if she hasn't mentioned it, they would had just deported her back to Belarus without any incident.
FYI, I'm not happy with how she is treated by the Russian authorities. What they did is terrible and against any human rights. There's no argument about it.
She was trying to gain asylum / refugee status so she wouldn't have to make a public bartering attempt. She was rightfully concerned about being tortured and then murdered, and I don't blame her for doing literally any of what she did.

Lol at the pity party going on in this thread. This woman is almost certainly a madam - someone who helps groom naive and vulnerable girls into prostitution, getting them in gently by posing as a friend and mentor and then hooked on drugs or other exploitable situations before being shipped off by sex traffickers, to other countries, like Thailand. Which by the way IS what she is getting charged with.
I really wouldn't care if she ended up with a bullet in her head. I doubt any of you would really either, only rather lamenting the loss of something that might expose trump for what you already fully believe he is.
Thats not how real life works unfortunately. She is going to die now or in a couple months.

For the record, sending child prostitutes to Thailand is not even close to what she's being charged with. If you have evidence to the contrary, feel free to provide it. I won't hold my breath.
