really, unbeleavable she was going to run for president, could not have seen that coming.
I need a bernie supporter to tell me if this is good or not
I think the craziest part of US politics is that in the end you're not gonna see all these people on the presidential ballot.
it's a complicated system defined by the states. Technically anyone can get on the ballot if they meet a few requirements but few people are going to vote for anyone without the D or R next to their name.
I mean it's not like it's hard to create a new party (at least it doesn't like it's hard). Why haven't the Dems and the GOP broke up in minor parties?
In comparison, the latest party here took 4 years to be approved.
The presidential election is technically 50 elections happening at the same time. Many with slightly different rules from one another.
The first past the post system I think has been mathematically proven to favor 2 parties
It's also just average voter logic - everyone knows not to waste their vote on a third party, and you'll see people tell you as much.
I'm texting that she wont win the the nomination otherwise I'll post a picture of my hairy ass.
please don't?
My god, she's our only hope
shes probably going to win.
her, corey booker, and bernie and probably the favorites
I actually decided in September that I wanted to put a £10 bet on one of the potential Dem candidates winning the general election, and I chose Kamala Harris because she has about as much chance as anyone at the moment
But now I'm in a tough spot because if she wins I get £100 but I also have to see @Reg 's hairy ass
I don't know if she's good or bad one way or the other but I love that "kamala" translates to "terrible" in Finnish.
I'll practice the lighting and the angles so its more tasteful when the day comes
Eww fuck no. Saying this as someone who strongly dislikes the state government of Massachusetts, I’d rather have Elizabeth Warren.
Sure, Not been forced or propagation to believing increasingly illogical idea that already shown its consequences in long run, Like in the remaining Anglosphere countries like Canada, United Kingdom nor States who still have FPTP.
You could uh not go on facepunch the day she wins?
I mean honestly I have no idea what you're saying here (I know that's not necessarily your fault, but it's the truth), but coupled with the dumb rating, I'll just add that I've been very vocal about FPTP being completely trash. I'm not saying it's a good thing that people don't vote for third-parties (and I don't think it's strictly "a wasted vote"), just that it's obvious enough consequence of the system that the average voter will actually vote strategically.
The only way to counter a fictional past is to offer a glorious future. Hopefully she knows what she's doing.
Or if she will anything doing it right or easily becoming the new Hillary of 2020 Democratic Primaries so far?
Maybe people should stop looking for a new Hillary
eh she's not my favorite, maybe my 4th choice overall. but she's not hillary and she's quite progressive.
Didn't she pardon or not prosecute someone because they were a corporate donor to her previous campaign, or am I thinking of another candidate?
voting because i like the beat
Harris has potential, for sure. I'm interested in seeing how her campaign develops as we move closer towards the primaries. She has taken up the banner of some good progressive policies, she plays well with the Democratic party as in institution, she has been active in addressing the corruption of the Trump regime, and she hasn't been shy to put herself on the line. I wouldn't call her a slam dunk, by any means, but she could develop into a very strong candidate.
Fascinating to see your response to a corporate shill democrat is "yeah, she has potential! Interesting to see how she'll handle being accused of fucking bribery; she's got a challenge ahead of her for sure!"
While your response to Bernie fucking Sanders is that he's a divisive piece of shit who seized upon Russian interference to attempt to win an election.
Don't forget his digging his heels in then jumping ship to go to another thread when he could no longer argue thus proving what some of us said about him now adhering to Trump supporter debate tactics.
