seems like you're putting an awful lot on the effectivity of a black box device. Its an extremely slippery slope in my opinion.
On the other hand, taking all the asylum seekers' word for it clearly hasn't worked out in determining who is actually a minor and who isn't
Isn't the issue of adults claiming to be minors massively overblown anyway?
Depends on who you ask.
It's a real problem, but it's still a small minority of immigrants who's age are in question.
I'll try to find some data regarding Germany (BAMF generally does a really good job when it comes to transparency), but based on a 2016 report of the UK Home Office, its not overblown.
In 2015, 65% of applicants whose identity wasn't immediately clear and were claiming to be under 18, turned out to be adults.
For how many of all immigrants were the identity not immediately clear and claiming to be under 18?
They should stop funding this kind of irrelevant measures and give them to the refuges where they are and to fund more german courses, which is still the main weakness of the whole process. We are in 2019 and all the available ones are still either full or overpriced.
