Everything seems pretty fishy, but maybe 2 days is a little soon to start being suspicious? I always try to give the seller at least a week before trying to file any claims.

Well at least you got eBay on your side, they usually side a lot with the buyer.
Don't just do a PayPal claim or so, there are rules on eBay to handle those things.
Can't remember exactly but you have to give them a certain amount of time to respond before you can open a dispute.
If they don't reply or move a finger then open a dispute on eBay, that will force the person to reply and if he doesn't move in another give timeframe eBay will refund you.
This is why I always research a buy

Wait a week and contact the seller, if no response then elevate/dispute the issue to ebay. I've bought junk listed as working and got my money back, you'll surely get yours back for not receiving anything.
if he hasn't responded or shipped in a week file an ebay claim, ebay is extremely buyer-sided and will almost always side with the buyer in disputes and you'll get your money back (which will 100% happen if he never ships anything)

Id escalate with eBay because what you already paid should cover the shipping. You could cancel, but this sounds like something eBay should be aware of.

OK, I gave this person the benefit of the doubt because they seem to be new to eBay and PayPal in general. They've accepted my money and it looks like they're going to ship. I probably overreacted here because I've had a bad time with eBay in the past, but I'll post if things get fishy.
Yeah, selling on eBay sucks big time, it's just not worth it most of the time, especially for electronics.
If either gives you shit, go to your bank and explain the whole situation. I had someone hack my paypal account and steal 1K from me via a fake Ebay purchase. Paypal was giving me the run around and told me to wait 1 month to get my money back even when I explained I never used Ebay in my entire life and the item was literally like a toothbrush or something. So I called my bank and talked to customer service, and they immediately gave me 1K in credit and told me straight up that the entire thing is a scam and to not worry about it as they would be personally talking to paypal.
Paypal is a totally shit company and so is Ebay, try to never mess with either if you can.
See, this is one of the good things about ebay, you can always pull out.
