There's a perverted sense of logic there because this has happened before. Zero Dark Thirty was being investigated for somehow knowing details that were supposed to be classified but after the Academy Awards, the Senate decided it suddenly wasn't important.
We're going to suddenly see a bunch of smear pieces that might not have any water what-so-ever being released in the run up to the Awards because movies actually have to lobby and campaign to get nominated and win.

Considering how many of these independently cross-corroborate each other this is either a Usual Suspects level conspiracy or virtually completely ironclad, and it's pretty damn clear which.

This is awful. I've been telling people for years not to support Singer, I can't believe how widely know it was and how hush he was able to keep it. It hurts that someone who directed films which are an allegory for homosexual persecution, self discovery and acceptance was doing these things. He destroyed so many lives.
You would think after the sexual revolution that #MeToo brought and Kevin Spacey being charged, you think something would have been done with people like Singer and Woody Allen. But nope.

Not that simple. Two people that directly challenged him had super huge well publicized issues with credibility and event corroboration, otherwise his allegedly rapey ass would have been in jail a long time ago.
He was in charge of several super successful movies, often carrying the entire pre-production creative side himself. On top of that with Rothman was actively witch hunting people for not being FOX exclusive, Singer would often take people Rothman fired out of literal spite and give them work.
The authorities have had very little problem prosecuting the shit out of anyone with enough evidence. Studios on the other hand as we've seen with Disney, Sony and FOX are a completely different beast. The amount of people that actually work at the administrative level in these studio is tiny, were talking about 2500-3000 people in the entire industry and everyone knows each other pretty damn well, and there's a gigantic wall of "mind your own business lest stones be cast into your glass house" to contend with. Look how many people Weinstein silenced. Three of the most illustrative people in this piece can't say more than they have because Singer will likely know who they are and the system currently in place that people like Terry Crews and others are trying to upend starts with admin, especially agents and producers who can literally end your career overnight with one call to your agency. The only reason Terry Crews got a turn around as fast as he did is because another rep higher up the chain than his agent corroborated his story in public immediately. Apparently no one is here for these men, and they literally putting their jobs on the line permanently by doing this.
This is just about money, it's about how fucking extensive this bullshit goes and has gone for almost a hundred years.
On the other side the fact his lawyer is trying to cast this as a homophobic smear piece means pretty clearly that Singer is on his last legs in term of defense and it's also prety damning that the man has basically nothing that isn't a prepared written statement in rebuttal.
