https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/427009-ojeda-drops-out-of-presidential-race We're so close to the 2020 election season that people we don't even recognize are already dropping out.
When did he join the race?
I would like to declare I too am dropping out of the 2020 election.
I mean, his heart is in the right place. Shame he won't attend at least one debate. I think no matter how low chance of success he has to win the primary, it is still important to represent a class of people who feel left behind and give voice to them. If Trump did one thing right, it is that he gave folks who felt hurt and abandoned by establishment politicians a podium and message to gather around and feel motivation to engage with (even if everything he said were lies). Would've been good PR for the democrats that even some West Virginian country hick is welcome in their debate about their parties future. It might not look like much but for some people these issues mean the world. wtf, I am not even american. why do I care about this shit Ojeda? more like outta job
It could also be that that his old seat in the State Senate is being replaced with a Lobbyist which has made him entirely incensed being the polite word.
This guy voted for trump which would have been used against him by both trump and dem supporters at every turn, I don't know what he thought he was doing running honestly.
Go build experience in WV, run for Senate 2020 against Capito or something.
We're still waiting for the DNC to announce the criteria for debate entry AFAIK, but presumably he probably wouldn't have qualified
Personally, I feel that he should instead take a shot at running for the position of WV governor. No idea if he would have a good chance at winning, but at the very least he'd be better than the current turncoat who's in that position.
He seems super indecisive and we already have one of those in the Oval Office. But hey, maybe he's got a shot at Trump's 2020 VP pick. If he doesn't turn it down after the election, of course.
His policies are actually pretty good and he would have been a fiery personality to have on the stage. He's better than at least half of the candidates currently in the running.
I believe he was also running for a house seat in 2018 and narrowly lost.
