Came in expecting to see Trudeau being a softcock, but it's not. Good.
Apparently he wasn't a trained diplomat and decided to run his mouth in a way that was a national embarrassment. It sucks it was necessary, but I can understand why Trudeau did it.
man I remember when ambassadors who spouted bullshit got docked, those were the days...2 years ago.
Uh. being a soft cock is why this happened, he had a chance to fire him earlier when this guy first interfered.
Trudeau's worst offense is giving people a reason to go back to voting for Conservatives. We can't afford another decade of a government slowly trying do dismantle our scientific and journalistic institutions because it works against their narrative and it's definitely going to happen again if there's a resurgence of people voting for the Conservative party.
Please, Canada, do everything you can to not be like us
And near going back for New Democrats again and some for national Greens as super protest vote, too for being apologetic to a foreign corporation under authoritative government? Since they still have little MPs left for the NDP and only one for Green Party in your Canadian House of Commons?
Almost everyone I know doesn't like Trudeau.
He's literally the embodiment of the lesser of two evils.
In your opinion. In my opinion he's only where he is because of nepotism and he's ruining the country. Marc Garneau should be Prime Minister right now. I maintain that Trudeau only won leadership of the Liberals because of his name. Garnau has previous leadership experience from his time as an officer in the military and as head of the Canadian Space Agency, and as Canada's first astronaut he has the famous name to campaign on. If Trudeau had been anyone but a Trudeau he'd have never made it past the first ballot.
So wait, it's not ok for Trudeau to campaign on his name but it's ok when a famous astronaut does it? Nice double standard there.
Sure, I guess? I mean, none of what I said goes against your point and vice-versa.
Jack Layton should be Prime Minister right now and should have been for several elections, but never mind that. Rest in peace after a life of service, taken too soon. The only nice things I can say about Stephen Harper and be entirely sincere and factually correct are: - He had the good sense to see that Canadians in fact do not want the gay marriage issue re-litigated and he abandoned the effort on the first failed attempt no matter how much bitching came from the conservative backbench - He had the extremely good sense to outright shut down a (Canadian tea party) backbencher rebellion on trying to re-litigate abortion and making it illegal, crushing the efforts with the might of public opinion as the majority of the country also considered the abortion issue a solved and established outcome and were not interested in reconsidering. Harper was not a good PM, but he made some unambiguously good decisions for the better of the entire nation and they should be recognized.
Yeah, I was trying to convey the idea that I still respect the office of Prime Minister if not the individual that holds it.
