Tesla wants to deter break-ins with "keep Summer Safe" easter egg & horror music

Last week, Musk said that it would be coming soon and started referring to the new 360° dashcam surveillance feature as Tesla’s ‘Sentry Mode’.

Last night, the CEO said that a Tesla detecting a robbery would blast Bach’s Toccata and Fugue, a famous organ piece often used in horror movies:

Musk also said that they could also use “keep Summer safe”, which appears to be a reference to a scene in the popular animated show Rick and Morty where a vehicle’s AI goes on a killing spree in order to protect its occupant:

So the gimmicks keep on coming.
A good way to keep the name in the public eye, but this stream of gimmicks is making me very sceptical of the cars themselves.
But what if you've just gone Chopin with your Liszt and you'll be Bach in a Minuet?
The cars themselves have objectively good spencs, though.
Sounds like youve never bought a car before.
Gimmicks sell cars. Dealers always try to sell by flaunting x y z gimmicks on every car as an upgrade.
Doesnt change whether or not the car itself is good or bad.
No fun allowed.
Buuuut does it finally has interior quality?
Does it have a proper dashboard and not an iPad stuck to it
you could always just quickly slip in and out by entering through the massive panel gaps
Sexy.
dank memes lmao is more important
When is he just gonna let us install our own alarm sounds via flash drive so I can have it scream "What are you doing in my swamp?" After which it immediately plays a bass boosted version of All Star.
It? Are you talking about the Model 3?
You're aware that there's several models, right?
Tesla interior quality has always been lacking when compared to other cars in a similar price range to each of their models.
I will say that the Model 3 is especially irritating for me, though. Just give me a proper dash and physical climate controls.
It's not like this particular gimmick takes away from the actually important features of the car either. It's a bloody car alarm that can play arbitrary audio files tacked on to the genuine security feature they were making. A developer probably threw it together for office memes and it just kinda stuck around.
If someone steaks your car you should be able to talk to them through the phone app. Like those Ring doorbells but in your car.
Can you climate control your car remotely? If someone stole my car on a hot summer day i could always blast the heat and keep the windows from opening. force them to get out of the car
Lock the doors, blast the heat, have the car start playing BFG Division at max volume.
Talking about all of them.

Idk, I think this looks pretty slick.
I'd love to have a car with an interior like that.
I know that this forum has quite a few Tesla enthusiasts but I'm gonna speak from the heart here
My boss has a Tesla Model X, he paid like $120,000 for this thing with all the bells and whistles - and it's a really cool car.. But it doesn't feel like a $120,000 car. I know that batteries probably equate to like, 25% of the cost, but it shows. Interior quality is good, but not what you would expect from a $120,000 car. Compared to the interior of any other ICE in the same price bracket, technological gimmicks aside, the Tesla's are lacking a little bit
He can sit in bed and blast the heat, having all the ice melted off the windshield before he gets in. Personally the only thing I find lacking in the Model 3 interior is the interior lighting, but each to his own.
I love my classic muscle cars and I'm the kind of person who loves the engineering behind a simple V8, but there's just something about Tesla's which I really love. In fact it's the only EV manufacturer I actually like the look of their models (X and 3 especially). The interior for me is pretty nice - not too sparse, but also not incredibly busy etc.
Like you mentioned though, the price is what I can't agree on. Yes it's a technological marvel on wheels and has the looks to boot - but the asking price is far too much. I understand why companies like Rolls Royce and Bentley ask what they do (all hand made etc etc) and while I don't agree with their pricing either, Tesla just doesn't have that whole "Oh we hand make everything" badge to justify the price.
Some cars you look at the interior and just think "I can see where all the money went" but I haven't had that with Tesla's yet. It's a unique style, but nothing jumps out after you've seen them often.
In saying that - I still want to get a Model 3 Performance and later an X but I hope by the time I actually have enough money stashed away to afford either (or both) - they'd come down in price to a more affordable level.
Real talk if my millionaire neighbor's Tesla gets broken into because he bought two of them and parks them on the street to let everyone in my mixed income neighborhood know the future is here and the entire block wakes up to ~keep summer safe loooool~ then I'm not calling the cops.

I know this is on the outside, but iirc there were also problems on the inside
Not only that, its not just how it looks, which imo isn't all that great either.
The feel of the materials, how well its screwed together, how thick they are... For example, you usualy hear people praise BMW's cabins on their style, up until the part where they touch the materials and feel a lot of scratchy hard plastics. The same usually happens in VW's, but when you go for the higher priced models based on the same platform, as in a Golf VS an A3, the A3 doesn't has any problem like that. If you go further down the line, you get to SEAT, and the Leon has these plastics that literaly look like plastic, instead of this padded rubber coated dashboard.
Are you just sour because you'll never be able to afford one?
the absolute SHITTEST thing to say in defence of something is 'lol u cant afford'
fuck off with that shit
I can't afford a Tesla and I think their interiors are shit.
I can't afford a night in Trump's golden hotel suites and I think they look like shit.
You don't have to have money to have taste.
anyone can buy with credit, I don't know why people get all pretentious about pricier cars
Nice. You definitely got him by coming up as a huge pompous cunt.
