Good thing I'm indestructible.
I miss using l4d voice lines as shitposts
Jesus fuck, I was expecting the usual viewmodel distortion from floating point errors, and that amplified the immediate and primal fear.
"I hate the void"
I still say “pills here” randomly at parties.
I was expecting a "So you're finally awake"
For anyone curious about what actually happens:
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't the basic gist of this that the way things are rendered is somehow tied to the center of the map, and going too far eventually causes significant errors in how the positioning of individual segments/polygons works?
I recollect there was a guy who noclipped out of a TF2 map at an obscenely high speed and similar issues happened to him.
Pretty much. Floating point numbers are stored in scientific notation. Some bits are dedicated to the significant figures, and the rest are dedicated to the exponent (except for one bit which represents negativity). The larger the exponent is, the fewer bits are used to store significant figures. Eventually the exponent gets so large that you hit a point where you can't even represent every integer anymore and you get crazy rounding.
Which SCP is this?
When I was a kid I was always freaked out by getting lost in the void
Fuck, I probably should have gone with this face instead, now that I think about it.

I got to witness this firsthand when I fell through one of the last maps in Darksiders
