I'm done just sitting and dealing with it at this point. Even after fiddling with custom CSS, trying different browser settings, reinstalling the browser, trying different browsers, and recently even getting a new phone, Facepunch STILL just doesn't want to behave, and I have no idea how to fix it.
Since I'm not at a full-size PC for most of my day, this is how it all looks. It looked the same on a non-X style phone too, just worse, since even more of the screen was covered in corrupted layout.

Because Garry doesn't give a shit and has stopped developing the forum because he makes no money on it so why should he bother?
Because in modernizing Facepunch and making it into a true 2018 experience, Garry decided it wasn't necessary to have a functioning mobile version (which is literally the most basic, necessary thing for a modern website)
At least Android gets FP Droid which I have basically never had any issue with. Some kind of CSS wizardry.
A friendly reminder that Oldpunch functioned nearly perfectly on mobile browsers without enabling Desktop view.
Because no one at FP gives a shit about FP Forums.
I've said this a couple times and I'll say it again. Garry felt inclined to reinvent the wheel and come up with 5 different moronic variations of "newpunch", each less usable and intuitive than the last. Despite everyone enjoying oldpunch a traditional web forum, he thought that model was outdated. Then he realized all of that was a huge waste of time because no one wanted it, so he decided to implement a forum system from the ground up. All we needed was the exact same features of oldpunch, but with modern web technology/security, but that's too easy.
Instead we ended up with this cobbled together mess, people continued to complain, Garry got mad no one wanted something that no one asked for, threw a tantrum about shutting it all down, and now we've got this unfinished shitty site that is somehow worse than the old one.
I love FP but I really don't understand any part of Garry's thought process.
To be fair, what he built for us in Newpunch is pretty damn impressive from a dev perspective, but that doesn't make the usability issues any less of a problem.
I still remember a poster here smuggly declaring we were leaving vBulliten in the past during the switchover.
This is what it looks like on both of the phones I had too. Especially when you scroll and the bar on top just creates this gap.
Garry is fucking stupid and thinks the internet is stuck back in 2007.
He legitimately doesn't understand that the vast majority of website traffic comes from mobile
I distinctly remember lots of people complaining in the early stages of Newpunch that Garry was focusing too much on the mobile experience and should focus all of his effort on the desktop version.
only problem I have with the mobile site on my iPhone 8 is the event window doesn't work.
In todays world, a good online presence can make or break a company. I'm amazed FP studios doesn't give a shit about its own.
I've lost count of the number of times i accidentally opened the Steam or Discord invite page when trying to click on an alert. It happens so often my browser has the Steam page listed as a frequently visited page.
I will never stop whining about how deleting quotes on android is impossible, or how he somehow couldn't figure out how to include fucking line breaks.
I thought he started making games in the first place to get out of web development. It's an unfun time sink, and it's only gotten worse with increased browser complexity.
And tbh I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's his time, money and such.
