https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jan/29/amendments-to-may-statement-brexit-bill Below are the amendments which will be voted upon, as selected by Speaker John Bercow. This is the order in which they will be taken: A: Labour’s O: The SNP’s G: Dominic Grieve’s B: Yvette Cooper’s J: Rachel Reeves’ I: Caroline Spelman’s N: Graham Brady’s If the Labour motion is passed, the SNP’s one will fall (that is, it will not be put to a vote). And if the Cooper amendment is passed, the Reeves one will fall. A. Official Labour amendment Tabled by Jeremy Corbyn and backed by a series of frontbenchers, this pushes the party policy of avoiding no deal and instead seeking a form of customs union. B. The Yvette Cooper/extend article 50 amendment One of the most closely scrutinised amendments, and backed by more than 70 MPs, this would guarantee parliamentary time for a private members’ bill drafted by Cooper that would extend article 50 to the end of 2019 if Theresa May failed to secure a deal by late February. While it seems likely to win official Labour backing, and from some Tories, it could be scuppered by doubts among Labour MPs in leave-voting areas. The government will whip MPs against backing it. G. Dominic Grieve amendment This idea by the former attorney general would allow parliament to take control in creating a series of indicative votes by decreeing that a motion put forward by a minority of 300 MPs from at least five parties – including 10 Tory MPs – would be debated as the first item for MPs in the Commons the next day. I. Spelman no-deal amendment Tabled by the longstanding Tory MP and former environment minister Caroline Spelman, with the backing of more than 115 MPs from various parties, this states that the UK will not leave the EU without a deal. It is only advisory and has no legislative force. J. Extending article 50 Signed by a cross-party group of remain-minded MPs, led by Labour’s Rachel Reeves, this would seek a two-year extension of article 50 if there is not a deal in place by 26 February. N. The Brady amendment Its figurehead is Graham Brady, who as chair of the 1922 Committee is the voice of Tory backbenchers. Yet another attempt at making the backstop more palatable to Tory MPs, this says it should be “replaced with alternative arrangements to avoid a hard border”. Once again, this is something the EU has ruled out. The government has indicated that it will whip MPs to back the amendment, which if passed would allow May to go to Brussels with a clear sign from MPs of what they want, to get a deal through parliament. O. SNP/Plaid Cymru amendment This notes that the Scottish and Welsh assemblies also “voted overwhelmingly to reject the prime minister’s deal”, calling for an extension of article 50 and no deal being removed as an option. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/165/f2e6d962-a06f-45af-ab20-6399c71ef16f/image.png

I hope of some of these amendments get withdrawn before 7pm. We don't need 6 anti-no-deal amendments, I hope it doesn't fragment the votes
Just reading the contents of the Malthouse Compromise make me wish Theresa May would be forcibly exiled to the most remote old folks' home in the world with her and a rabid leopard as the only residents.
And not one of them is about cancelling Brexit.
This is all playing out into a game of who can shoot themselves in the head first.
Also known as Russian roulette. Quite appropriate, i must say.
EU to rule out Brexit renegotiation should Brady amendment pass .. UK: We got a deal! Now we'll pass it through parliament EU: Okay good, cus we aren't going to renegotiate UK: Oh no! It didn't pass, but we won't try to renegotiate it EU: Yeah because you can't - we aren't going to renegotiate UK: Some people are saying we should renegotiate... EU: You can't, because we aren't going to renegotiate UK: Breakthrough! We've decided we would like to renegotiate EU: Are you fucking listening to us
Jesus Christ I keep telling all my friends it's like this and I get looks of disbelief in reply and feel like an idiot.
May's holding out for opposite day when she can pull a "Got 'em!" on the EU. Fucking embarrassing.
I think she's just trying to run down the clock and force the house to accept her deal. It's starting to think that all this divide and indecisiveness is coming from her and it's all very purposeful, like a conspiracy.
It's starting to feel like the only major party that actually gives a shit about not shooting themselves and the country as a whole in the foot are the SNP.
Can we get the amendment that just throws the entire thing out the window and fucking cancels it already?
Yep, adding a 'no backstop' clause will definitely work and isn't just some fantasy thinking about how negotiations work. While we're at it, Let's add an amendment which makes the EU pay £350m/week to the NHS too. If we add a NTB (no take-backs) clause and a NC (no crossies) clause, then they'll have no choice but to do it! /s
as long as no deal is totally ruled out and forces an extention, let them fuck around with deals. The longer we stay in the EU the better as fuck knows parliament will never agree on one.
UK: No
I swear I'm taking crazy pills with how much dumb shit is going on

Chickening out slightly by saying major parties there, you're missing out on the Greens + Lib Dems have been vocally opposed to Brexit throughout the process, and Plaid have been in favour of remaining in the single market. MPs from all of them have constantly been criticising the Government's plan of action (and lack thereof).
Oh my god Yvette Cooper's face https://cdn-b-east.streamable.com/video/mp4/qh9oy.mp4?token=jbJGNJPzqtZNDDEtoam8cg&expires=1548794190
The Brady amendment is sheer insanity. We're going to vote to change our half of the bargain... despite knowing that the EU will reject it? Madness. The only way it makes sense is if the goal is to shift blame for a catastrophic no deal onto the EU instead of the Tories. Funny that.
I made an edit to the post shortly after you posted, I'm not sure if you noticed, sorry. But again, FPTP is a key reason as to why this is the case, so many votes are left unaccounted for, and people have their personal choice limited based on listed representatives and tactical voting. If we could have a positive-reinforcement based PR voting system, I'm sure that the non 'major' parties would gain a much larger boost to their support and seats. In my case - I hate to be blunt and to go against something I believe - but voting for the local Green or LD candidate is practically a wasted vote if I want to get rid of the Conservative + Leave MP. I've had to settle on supporting the Labour MP despite the party's mixed ideas on it, only because of how close the vote is in this constituency. It kinda hurts to say but if the ~5% of voters who voted for the Greens + Lib Dems here voted for Labour, then maybe their voice would've been heard ever so slightly better in the commons.
It would not surprise me if that was the true aim of the amendment. The Tories know that their tenure in government is trashed, so they'll try and cling on in any way they can by pointing the blame on someone, anyone. "L-look! Big bad EU TYRANTS SWATTED down a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL bringing a proposal voted on by THE PEOPLE OF BRITAIN!!!!!!! They're so big and meanie weenie "
It happens chill. I agree with your overall point, as much as I disagree with Labour as a whole they're the most effective choice for tactical voting currently.
See, this is where I would disagree. My constituency has a Labour MP and I have no intention voting either Tory or Labour, even if that vote goes towards a party that someone would consider unequivocally dead in the water. As soon as you start to publicise the impression that third-party votes are a waste, the only thing you're going to encourage is the consolidation of a two-party system. Make it seem more reasonable, you might see a swing towards a more balanced vote. FPTP will slow down how long this takes, of course, but succumbing to the shittiness of FPTP only entrenches FPTP in British politics.
And so the class war begins soon. It's been fun lads, we're going to hell unless something truly radical happens

This would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. UK Parliament is fuckin' out of touch.
