This has been going on for 2 or 3 weeks I think? But yeah, algae blooms in the Murray-Darling have starved the water of oxygen, causing most of the fish to die. Unfortunately, carp (an invasive species) are not being affected by the mass die-offs, which makes matters even worse for native fish. Climate change is certainly a factor, but the more prominent factor in this case is the water management. Or rather, mismanagement.
