In the wake of President Donald Trump’s renewed attacks on the U.S. intelligence community this week, senior intelligence briefers are breaking two years of silence to warn that the
President is endangering American security with what they say is a stubborn disregard for their assessments.
Citing multiple in-person episodes, these intelligence officials say Trump displays what one called “willful ignorance” when presented with analyses generated by America’s $81
billion-a-year intelligence services. The officials, who include analysts who prepare Trump’s briefs and the briefers themselves, describe futile attempts to keep his attention by using
visual aids, confining some briefing points to two or three sentences, and repeating his name and title as frequently as possible.
What is most troubling, say these officials and others in government and on Capitol Hill who have been briefed on the episodes, are Trump’s angry reactions when he is given
information that contradicts positions he has taken or beliefs he holds. Two intelligence officers even reported that they have been warned to avoid giving the President intelligence
assessments that contradict stances he has taken in public.

I'd hate my life if i had to work for this retard.
Literal manchild.
A real man of the right wing people.
Wow it's almost like it's a bad idea to elect to the office of President someone whose ego has been known for decades to be eggshell-thin and who gets mad and rejects reality when he's told he's wrong.
I will give Trump credit for one thing: his skills as a bullshitting salesman who promises the moon (before inevitably underdelivering or utterly failing to deliver altogether) worked to convince a significant proportion of the US population that the man who unironically lives in a gold-plated skyscraper-top condo represents and can identify with the blue-collar common man.
All the more reason why he's unfit for the office of the presidency. Ignoring the potential conflict of interests and scandals regarding his supposed ties to russia; He can't be relied on to make informed devisions when it comes to either foreign policy, let alone domestic. If you add the fact that his move to pull completely out of Syria, leaving allies without aid and a potential resurgence of groups like ISIS while claiming they're "finished;" It's just baffling he's still somehow in office.
If he wasn't part of the republican party, this info on top of the other horrendus things he's said and done would've had him out a long time ago. And the longer he stays? The worse it's only going to get. We're already at points it would take years to completely recover from. If he isn't removed soon? I fear for the future for everyone, and not just in the U.S.
What is:Functional illiteracy
Trump is the greatest threat to national security.
This was well known, even back in 2016.
I think the dude who ghost wrote Art of the Deal brought it up. When he asked Trump what his favorite book was he just sort of squirmed and eventually saod "All Quiet on the Western Front" which is hilarious, based on how much a military chauvanist he is.
The solution is so simple.
Just rig his TV set to play his intelligence briefings disguised as a Fox 'n Friends episode.
Donald Trump is the total sum of right wing thought.
If he was left to his own devices, he would starve to death within weeks. He has nothing to offer to the world. Nothing to contribute. His death could only be a net positive, and the survival of his supporters can only hurt us all. They are, each one of them, totally worthless. They're leeches who think themselves gods.
They're incapable of introspection. This is only going to be stopped when they're stopped by force.
Millions stopped by force. What a wonderfully catastrophic and potentially Pyrrhic outcome. Can't wait to be part of a bloody civil war, this can only lead to an optimistic future (sarcasm). Not like it will irreversibly shatter the nation, cause an economic collapse, create terrible power vacuums, lead to a massive surge in suicides, internationally burdensome mass-emigrations, etc.
It has to stop at some point. We still have a fair few legal avenues, but we are at a pretty nasty turning point here.
I'll burn this shit to the ground before we become Nazi Germany.
Outcomes from the causality of actions can't just stop, they become something different, change into a new scenario. What has started doesn't just disappear. "Burn this shit to the ground", may have dire consequences, or/and lead to hypocritical results. Destruction and "dismantling" is going to require competent sympathetic influence that is optimally long-term, so it doesn't lead to double standards that ironically cause a darker future.
the only other book he's known to have read was a book of hitler's speeches that he kept next to his bed.
Source?
This is genuinely terrifying. I am kinda disappointed that non of the great dystopia novels anticipated the "willful ignorant leader surrounded by yes-men" scenario.
It goes deeper than "willful ignorant leader surrounded by yes-men". There's overwhelming sources of information, decades of one-sided political propaganda, a stagnating cold war era status quo, party partisanship exploitation, desensitization caused by persistent dilemmas, apathy from vast diversions.
Because most dystopian authors probably never accounted for a large portion of the populace to be among the "yes-men" and be smart enough to resist. :/
There are plenty of non fictional accounts though if you are interested in that sub genre.
Fiction is sometimes nothing more then a mere imitation compared to the real thing.
Although I am quite positive there is quite a bunch of dystopian novels in that vein you just don't know about em.

This is a detail that bears repeating. There are still people in the government bureaucracy trying to keep this country functioning, but the traitors in the cabinet are actively sabotaging them.
I have a friend who works at a DHS call center, he was working during the state of the union address (and for a few hours after) one thing he told me about the experience was that he's specifically forbidden from telling people when Trump's statements are/were false.
