Brexit is going so well we're planning to send the queen on a vacation!
The Queen doesn't have any real power though, doesn't she?
No but you can easily imagine that people who are starving to death or have become homeless due to the retardation of the out of touch government might act irrationally toward just about any authority figures associated with making those decisions in some capacity. I can understand why some might view the queen as a symbol of imperialism regardless of her lack of public opinion on the matter and her lack of actual authority. I'd say they're not correct in their views, but I can see how they got there. Plus unrest is usually focused on high profile public figures/places as it gets reactions, press response, etc.
ooof that symbolism. The monarch fleeing their own kingdom.
I hope the EU can fast track them back in
The Queen may have to fear for her life but it's still a good idea guys.
She gives Royal Assent to bills once they pass through parliament, which is required before the bill is passed into law. Technically she could withhold this, but the last time this actually happened was in 1707. Some Brexiteers have implied that the Queen could 'save' Brexit, should it somehow be scuppered, by refusing assent. In reality the Queen has a policy of staying out of politics so this would be unlikely.
God save the Queen (from us).
That's fine. She's got other (and better) Kingdoms she can come live in 😏
Where?
Canada and Australia to name a few.
Can't imagine her going to a cold ass country or a hot as fuck country.
If you want it, take it. Get that antiquated shit outta my country
Then I guess it's Middle-Earth then. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110525/99aa6e52-cbf0-4073-a914-bce9b5dde674/image.png
lose 800 billion euro in capital outflow, a 50 billion pound brexit bill to be paid on top of that, thirty banks deciding to leave already, with several other businesses planning to either leave or announcing severe consequences to their running. On top of this you end up probably losing the queen mum too. You'd think the whole thing was satire
"Well at least we're takin back our sovernty!" "No we're not!" "HOW DO YOU KNOW?" its like half a dozen monty python skits with chapman and cleese
Your Country, I think not.
p sure its actually her country being the monarch and all maybe if you ask her nicely she'll share
It's also against constitutional convention. It's a non-legal but binding rule. I have no idea why people have started suggesting that the monarch could intervene in Brexit all of a sudden, and, similarly, I have no idea why people are responding to this suggestion with a mere "Yeah, but, that would be unusual". Not only would it be unusual, it would be unconstitutional and most certainly disputed, considering, like you said, refusal of royal assent has not been carried out since the 18th century. The domino effect of the monarch denying royal assent in the modern day, in my opinion, would probably lead to the removal of the royal prerogative powers over anything else.
actually it's mine
We can share
It is you. You're country.
I think if anyone would need to be evacuated, it'd be the people who would have got us into such a mess rather than our beloved queenie.
If brexit goes bad the ones actually responsible, your Boris Johnsons and Nigel Farages will be out of the country long before the public turns on them.
setting up base somewhere else to rally about how that place sucks
