[VIDEO] Spore creations "echoed" in OBS, any explanations?

I feel the need to, before you click into the video, clear a few things up.
First off, as could probably be deduced from the thumbnail is that things are gonna get really flashy. Don't look if you're epileptic or prone to seizures from this kinda thing.
Second, none of the weird seizure-inducing shit is what I see on my end, playing the game. The extent of what I see ingame is a black screen while it finishes up saving, and then immediately goes to the screen shown at the end of the video. This is entirely an issue/oddity with OBS.
My main question is why this is happening. It doesn't pose any issue with gameplay whatsoever, but this is an oddity I genuinely have no explanation for, and regardless of whether or not an answer be obtained, I do hope that this is at least somewhat interesting to someone.

It looks like a UV map being generated. That's actually quite fascinating. Seems like OBS catches that when the game generates those on the fly.
believe it or not this is a common issue with spore and OBS. no real idea why it happens but almost everybody who uses OBS and tries to play spore encounters this issue. see video below:

from what i know, the way spore applies textures to your creature is one layer at a time--you can see this if you go from the mode where you can change colors to the preview mode one. it loads the base/primary texture and color first, then secondary, and so on (i believe it's layering different textures on top of the base texture, which you can see happening in the video). i THINK that's what's happening in the video, and the reason it's flashing is because it's applying a texture (scales, color, etc) to the base texture, then applying it to the normal map or whatever the green/blue thing is, then to some other map, and it's cycling through them over and over. i drew the basic process it seems to go through:

instead of applying the texture to the creature like it's supposed to, it's just displaying the texture on its own.
