I knew we used to had one in the old Facepunch forums, but not a replacement here. Feel free to tell me what more should I add to the OP. So yea fellow pilots, report in and tell us your callsign!
"hey lets try mp" https://i.imgur.com/gz8x6LI.png : ' ( fun game, wish it had co-op tho. i'd say it's my 3rd fav ace combat game behind zero and 4
This is my second AC game, and I love it. You.. you don't want to know what my first was.
Erusean Fighter (Ally) «Against Three Strikes? Uh-uh, never again.» Wonderful game, and I still haven't touched the PS4 preorder bonus that gets you AC5, I haven't played that game in ages and don't remember anything from it now, I got to get into it again eventually hearing how AC5 is one of the most praised AC game.
really? it was great, but it didn't click with me as much as 4 and zero zero is pinnacle ace combat imo
Some of the missions in 7 are easily the most stressful/exhilarating in the series. "Yeah, just fly between these massive stone pillars in the middle of a rainstorm picking out ground targets with low, heavy cloud cover, and oh - fuck you - here's some lightning to fuck you up so you can't see dick."
I only played the first 3 missions so far. I feel like such an idiot for wasting my 4AAMs on the drone carrier. Of course I can't take that thing down the first time it shows up. I had nothing to deal with the swarms of drones since those little bastards love to twist and turn.

How many missions are there?
20
https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/358/523/142.jpg I cannot fucking believe that they actually did it as a twistagain.
The penal part of the game, with the 444 mission was one of the best parts of the game. I don't know yet what I loved more, if the music that reminds me of AC0, or the whole chit chat with the rest of prisioners ( that if you die they cheer ). I wish honestly it was left to the rest of the game so your squadron is a bunch of misfits that also includes the remnants of Sol squadron and some Osean and Erusian aces. -WOOOHOOO MY BLOOD'S BOILIN'! -TOSS THE CHUMP INTO SOLITARY ONCE HE COMES BACK -Spare 8! Champ! This is the Control Tower! You are not cleared to take off! Obey orders! -Go to hell Also mission 7 with the duel between you and Mikail with the thunderstorms, the one with Stonehenge, the one where you and the rest of prisioners decides to stick together to destroy the imposters, and OFC the last two missions are my favourite. Funny enough the tunnel part looks to me a remix of the tunnel parts from AC3 and AC5.
there a discord or any sort of facepunch community set up?

Not exactly Ace Combat, but are we allowed to discuss Project Wingman here too? It's a game releasing this year by fans of Ace Combat before 7 was even announced. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rb-d2/project-wingman/posts/2392440
Technically is not an AC game, but then again his creator is a fan of the series so why not? I contributed on the kickstarter as well.
AC7 is just great. Been having a blast clearing the aircraft tree primarily on the Russian jets so far, gonna focus on the F-22 and YF-23 next.
yf-23 is is a fun jet and the rightful winner of the advanced tactical fighter competition i'a northrop i'a mcdonnell douglas
By the By. If any of you want to play AC4/5/Zero; someone's just figured out a bunch of 'cheats' for PCSX2 that enable you to fix the historic performance and interlacing issues in emulating all 3 games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-z4rt3TRGA As always, use legal copies guys.
i used this myself and it worked like a dream, especially fixing the ground texture flickering that has been an issue for a while. only issue was the sun/pixy's burst missile explosionswould have a box-like artifact around them. i had to hit F10 to switch render modes or w/e every mission to fix it.
welp, mp's got its hackers now just played against an f22 that shat a line of 15 qaams out of his weapons bay in like 2 seconds
I have a lot of criticisms of the story, but the missions and gameplay of 7 are some of the best of the series. Great mix of missions with a lot of variety. Soundtrack is great. Multiplayer is terrible for a bunch of reasons, mostly because it's PVP, but that's par for the course for this series. I had a total blast playing through the game, with the penultimate mission being one of the most memorable "final" missions of the series IMO.
I dont think anything will beat facing your ex wingman in a duel before a nuke goes off by playing chicken and the music being opera with spanish guitar.
This is legitimately my favorite boss fight in all of video games.
So about the last few missions [sp]I expected the dirty Belkans to be responsible again, Its funny how some of the characters are hardly surprised because apparently Belkans are just known to be salty fucks who nuked there own homeland and still have resentment from 5[/sp] [sp]What I did not see coming was the game to become the prequel for Terminator, like the last two drones were clearly becoming self-aware with the HAL 9000 reference, singing and rapidly learning new tricks. I wish they would of ran with this theme more rather than fit it right into the end of the game.[/sp]
I thought the Penal Units portion of the game was a bit too short, but then I see my friend play through this game again and it's actually not that short? I guess it's because the time in Strider squad is more or less the same stuffs over and over again barring a few special encounter so that feel longer than it should. Still, the final missions of the game are one of the best expereience I've had. Definitely the most enjoyed part for me in this game. Would've liked more choices in the story though, and I can't believe they just killed off Tabloid like that. I think it is actually trying to pave the road for Ace Combat 3's story with the whole AI thing to be honest.
I Heard the PC port of this game wasn't that great. Is it that bad where I'd be better off playing on console?
I don't think you will notice an issue with it unless you want to use an expensive HOTAS or an ultrawide monitor to play. I have been using an XBox One controller and a regular 1080p display and the port has been performing extremely well. Definitely recommend.
there's already an unofficial widescreen fix (http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=174364#p174364) and the devs are reportedly looking into stick support
