Well my girlfriend is getting a gaming laptop in the next day or 2 and I was wondering if you guys could recommend any fun little co-op games, nothing too fast paced or shooter like, something along the lines of Rayman or Stardew Valley or any simple games

I'll always plug Terraria.

I know you didn't ask for shooters, but just in case any of them catch your fancy anyway/give anyone else some ideas Free: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sven Co-Op Players: 1-64(?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Half-Life Co-Op mod turned standalone. It's sorta like Left 4 Dead but slower-paced and more "realistic".   Download: https://store.steampowered.com/app/224260/No_More_Room_in_Hell/     ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cry of Fear Players: 1-4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spiritual successor to Afraid of Monsters. 4-Player co-op campaign.   Download: https://store.steampowered.com/app/223710/Cry_of_Fear/ Cheap: Space Beast Terror Fright Basically Space Hulk meets Aliens as a procedurally-generated Co-Op FPS Save 41% on Space Beast Terror Fright on Steam £7 now, £11 normally Left 4 Dead 2 Do I need to explain this? https://store.steampowered.com/app/550/Left_4_Dead_2/ Less than £2 at the moment Helldivers: (Up to) 4-player top-down twin-stick alien-murder/accidental death simulator https://store.steampowered.com/app/394510/HELLDIVERS_A_New_Hell_Edition/ £8 right now Pulsar: The Lost Colony: Crew a ship with friends and and explore the stars together. Has planet-side stuff as well. https://store.steampowered.com/app/252870/PULSAR_Lost_Colony/ £20, so not exactly cheap Crimsonland: A very basic yet addictive twin-stick top-down shooter Save 60% on Crimsonland on Steam <£5 E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy: A very disjointed mess of a 40k-inspired shooter. Has some of the best shooting in a source game I've played, lots of wacky abilities and such https://store.steampowered.com/app/91700/EYE_Divine_Cybermancy/ <£2, a steal
SYNTHETIK: Arena is completely free, it's a standalone spinoff of SYNTHETIK which is also pretty cheap. https://store.steampowered.com/app/984110/SYNTHETIK_Arena/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/477160/Human_Fall_Flat/ fun casual coop game. You can play it splitscreen or multiplayer. The controls are easy to learn too (probably want a mouse or gamepad though)
This one all the way. Probably one of the best building games of all time. If not one of the best games of all time period. Synergy (HL2) and Sven-coop (HL1) are free, assuming you have the core games needed.
Serious Sam
https://store.steampowered.com/app/496810/MegaTagmension_Blanc__Neptune_VS_Zombies_Neptunia/ :^) Yes, it has a 4 player coop and it's a blast with 4 people
https://store.steampowered.com/app/701160/Kingdom_Two_Crowns/ Might wanna wait for a sale on this one though. There are some pretty bad bugs at the moment, but the gameplay is solid and it looks utterly gorgeous. Definitely try it solo first so at least one of you can learn the mechanics, because there is almost zero guidance.
Bases on my experience (I know a bunch of these were already said) Human Fall Flat Stardew Valley Terraria Minecraft Resident Evil Revelations 2 OpenRCT2 (Think Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, but co op on the same map!) A Way Out (This was actually a blast) Battleblock Theater Starbound Tower Unite (Online mini golf, as well as other modes) Any of the LEGO games Hope this helps!
Binding of Isaac is a solid Co-op choice. There is a decent amount of fighting but it's really easy to pick up.
Tower Unite is perfect if you want something casual.
Can confirm this is a great co-op game with your partner. Me and my SO have sunk close to 50 hours into it and we tend to always come back to it more often than other co-op games (i.e. Minecraft, Modded-Minecraft, Portal 2's great but its a once-and-done-kinda-deal).
earth defence force 4.1 https://store.steampowered.com/app/410320/EARTH_DEFENSE_FORCE_41_The_Shadow_of_New_Despair/ you heard of eurojank, get ready for japanese-jank at its finest and its super fun to blast a hoard of aliens and bugs. Necropolis https://store.steampowered.com/app/384490/NECROPOLIS_BRUTAL_EDITION/ a rougelike inspired by dark souls. the game is quiet dead but its super fun with a full lobby of friends sniper elite (from 2 to 4 + nazi zombies 1 and 2) it has coop mode with up to 4 players i think. there are modes where one plays as the spotter with only binoculars and the other as the sniper. alien swarm: reactive drop Alien Swarm a mod that revies valve classic top down shooter that most people forgot with workshop content and 8 player mode!! Deep Rock Glalactic https://store.steampowered.com/app/548430/Deep_Rock_Galactic/ space dwarfs digging holes to mine ores and kill aliens. super fun with different classes to play as vagante https://store.steampowered.com/app/323220/Vagante/ a 2d Roguelike with different classes to chose from, pretty cute tourchlite 2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/200710/Torchlight_II/ if somehow you're not really into diablo and path of exlie is too grindy, give this one a try and you can mod it with the workshop if ya like. Pit people https://store.steampowered.com/app/291860/Pit_People/ turn based strategy game, if you like battleblock theater humor then you'll like this one No Man's sky https://store.steampowered.com/app/275850/No_Mans_Sky/ laugh all you want but with the new coop update it made the game a little bit better, i wish they had bigger ships so your friends can be co-pilots instead everyone in their own ship sea of theives. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/sea-of-thieves/9p2n57mc619k?SilentAuth=1&activetab=pivot:overviewtab pretty comfy when just going from island to island doing random quest while listening to the sound of the ocean.
Skyrim recently got a co-op mod going. Highly recommend this if you and your girl are into TES or RPGs of that nature.
Sven-coop
Apex is p. fun.
39 Days to Mars is a short, neat puzzle game about drinking tea and going to space. I know the guy who made it too, he's a cool dude Save 25% on 39 Days to Mars on Steam
You could play pretend
Try Enter The Gungeon if you like the idea of a top down binding of Isaac type game that's easy to learn but impossible to master. Me and my friends have been playing it over a year and we still find all sorts of new shit
Vermintide 2 is currently on sale for $12 USD.
Sniper Elite 4 is also just 12 buckaroos at the moment Save 80% on Sniper Elite 4 on Steam
unironically RE6, game is a disaster but you'll be laughing so hard you wont notice.
It is a wonderful coop-game for exactly that reason, it's just so ridiculous and easy to screw with each other.
Monaco: What's Yours is Mine is a fun heist game you can play either solo or with up to 4 players. You have a lot of health to work with so it can be pretty lenient for mistakes, and honestly most of the fun from multiplayer comes when someone makes an accidental misstep and it turns a sneaky entourage into a frantic chase until the heat cools off.
That's exactly why I suggested it
