Yeeeeep. I Already have my BR game to play so this has really got to do something special to hook me. Doesn't look bad, but it doesn't do enough different to really make me care.
Free to play can always get a ton of people wanting to play, and the power stuff in this seem interesting. Might be worth a go.
I had absolutely no expectations whatsoever. Titanfall 2 being one of my favorite games of all time. But after playing it with my friends, this game is actually really good. It's polished, and seems to have an actual fair model.

There's not many sentences I can structure to tell you why you're wrong that don't get me banned. Basically, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Sadly you can only play as a squad of three, I was expecting to play it solo.
CS:GO wasn't even made by valve. Was developed by HPE to be a simple refresh of CS:S. After that valve took over development. This is why CS:GO's engine is still really basic as no major overhauls were done compared to titanfall which was overhauled.
Dude, Respawn has full access to Source's engine source; they can do a shit load of changes to it. Its not a fair comparison.
The source engine is capable of far greater things, as Titanfall and Apex shows that, modified or not, it's clear Valve themselves are able to push their engine to greater heights because other companies are able to do it themselves. Feel free to rate me dumb and call me an idiot. I really don't care. But you could at the very least have a logical discussion about it. The point im trying to make it Valve and Source Engine are capable of greater things that what Valve is currently achieving.
You're comparing this to one of CS:GO's less visually appealing maps when CS:GO has a lot of very good looking maps like de_train, de_nuke, de_inferno and de_dust2. The BR map was made with the absolute limit of the CS:GO's source engine branch.

Reapawns modifications to the source engine is more comparable to Quake engine and Source
Source still contains heavy ties to GldSrc which is a heavily modified Quake Engine. This has nothing to do with ID.
Missed the point entirely, was comparing MW3 to ID tech 3, which technically are the same engine at it's core. Just like respawn did to source, it was torn apart and completely reworked to suit their needs: The game used a heavily modified version of Valve Corporation's Source as its game engine. Many improvements were made to the engine's aspects such as physically based rendering, a texture streaming system developed in house, high dynamic range and depth of field. The team also made changes to the audio, such as introducing sound occlusion and reverberation.[46] According to John Haggerty, senior software engineer, the team broke part of the engine's code for level progression and saves when they were making the first game. The programming team found it a huge challenge to fix and reinstate these codes to accommodate the sequel's single-player campaign. The team also developed a scripting system from scratch, allowing designers to quickly assemble action blocks. The game's artificial intelligence was significantly enhanced, with new movesets and behaviors for pilots and titans in both single-player and multiplayer modes
This looks fun. I'm always a big fan of movement options in games, and this one seems like it has it in strides. Yeah, it sucks that Titanfall development was halted for the flavor of the month, but it doesn't seem half-bad. I was actually waiting to see when the first Hero-Battle-Royale would come out. I expected Ubisoft to pull something of using Siege as a basis, actually. It remains to be seen if the playerbase will be big enough/stay long enough for this game to be relevant, like for all Battle-Royales.
>Titanfall (spin off) game with no Titans What's even the point? It's bad enough TF3 was canned in favor of developing this as per EAs orders.
Seriously? The trailer had me a bit hyped but hearing that just killed my mood for it.
This game isn't that bad. It has some flaws in places that can be ironed out pretty quickly. What separates this game from others would be the character abilities which invite different tactical decisions. I can see this model of "BR BUT WITH ABILITIES" coming nicely, with composition being a focal point. Nobody feels incredible tanky either. Map isn't intensely large either. I'm going at most a minute without any fighting. My problem is they removed a lot of the momentum things that make Titanfall's identity. You can't double jump or wall run anymore. You've got the good vaulting and sliding but that's about it. On top of that, equipment seems RIDICULOUSLY scarce. I can never drop to a spot and have my entire squad ready for combat. Someone is missing something at all times. Mechanics like call outs and the backpack are very simple and intuitive. I'm actually really satisfied with how easy it is to tell my team mates about random shit, enemies, positions, and etc with the call out wheel. "HOLD E TO DO X" is the downside to it though, and really kills the flow of engagements if you want to quickly swap out a gun. It seems it's double the length of weapon swaps in Titanfall 2. As with all battle royale games: You're going to lose the first few matches pretty quickly while you get used to the mechanics. But it took me about 3 to get the idea of what I need to do, and I've only tried 3 specialists. I am a movement lover so I instantly went the MARV character. Using that Ultimate Zipline for both offensive and defensive plays is where I knew this game could take off if they cared for it right. My real fear is that we are over-saturated with battle royale now and, like Titanfall 2, will fizzle out because of the shittiest timing.
Would have been cool to have like 6-12 titans available on the map.
Kuben Blisk continues his campaign of finding other people to die for him.
This looks like Lawbreakers with a battle royale mode, looks pretty fun so hope this game does well But aside from that I know its a spinoff game but no titans is pretty lame
My first impression is it kind of ignored all the progression the BR genre has made with games like Fortnite and Ring of Elysium and ends up feeling like PUBG with hero abilities. Same old annoying parachute mechanics you have to learn to get decent loot but they're only relevant to the first few moments of each match, same old spending most of the match just running through the map not seeing anyone, same crappy early game fights where it's a rush for who gets to the guns first and fists are useless, same long-range focus that results in getting shot from ages away by some guy you never even saw. I was kinda interested in the hero abilities, Titanfall movement in a BR game and being able to respawn when my friend first told me about it, but then in the games we played the hero abilities were never a factor in gunfights, the movement turned out to be completely absent bar vaulting and sliding and respawning actually kinda sucks. Instead of just returning to the lobby and jumping into a new game when you die, you sit and spectate until your teammate brings you back, but all your gear is missing so now you're a sitting duck and have to start the early game looting cycle all over again. Why was TF3 shelved for this?
A few of the legends have some absolutely amazing abilities, bangalore, gibraltar and bloodhound can turn the tables on the enemy basically instantly. It's all about positioning yourself correctly and knowing the right moment to turn the tables on the enemy. Some dude in my team managed to not drop a single frag in the entire game, yet his last minute shield basically turned the tables instantly and won the game. The movement and gunplay also feels mile better than PUBG and similar games. In all honesty tho, I don't mind slower games, I prefer having a breathing room to read the environment and make conscious decisions on where to relocate and etc, I really don't mind the downtime, if anything, I love the crescendo of the Battle Royale games.
I've never had a moment like that, the one time I saw a Gibraltar pop their bubble it just delayed the inevitable sniping for a few seconds, all Bangalores seem capable of is using the smoke to get free revives after one of the team gets sniped and in general gunfights come down to whoever was lucky enough to get a sniper rifle and scope from their starting location wins.
Too bad CS:GO is inconsistent as all hell. Nuke can be a GPU drain and Inferno is absolutely bananas. Plus the game's frame pacing is god fucking terrible and if you drop under 100fps the game stutters visibly, with the worse example being, again, Inferno. And don't think about playing DZ w/ an AMD/Intel GPU either, the stuttering is just otherwordly.
Valve had all the chance to polish their Source 2 engine and get a BR game out to catch the all the hype people have been having and demo what their engine are capable of. Instead they went off a wrong direction. Artifact aren't really that effortless imo, a cash grab it might be, but a lot of work and heart definitely went into it and the monetization scheme isn't actually that bad compared to other TCGs. They just did it too late and did it at the wrong time.
It's very team based, with abilities that synergize and mechanics that help with teamplay like a ping system and a respawn system.
@redBadger you posted a screencap from CS:GO the game everyone fucking plays on ultra low settings on full vibrance and contrast to get any advantage they can, the game doesn't need to look good lmfao
Plus, if they went like "okay CS:GO's system requirements have now gone up just to make the game support one gimmick mode and look good" there'd be no end of complaints.
