Art. 1 - The trade, advertisement, distribution or donation of any micro-abortive are prohibited.
Paragraph 1 - The use, implantation or prescription by the Public Health Network of abortive micros is also prohibited.
Paragraph 2 - The intrauterine device (IUD), the progestin-only pill (mini-pill), the subcutaneous progestin-releasing implant (Norpant), the morning-after pill, the RU 486 pill, the anti-HCG and any other device, substance or procedure that causes the death of the human being already conceived, throughout its entire gestation, especially before implantation in the endometrium.
Art. 2 - The police competent authority shall seize and destroy all material that violates, that is, intended to violate the provisions of this Law, and may prohibit the industrial or commercial establishment that repeatedly violates these standards.
As if the technical norms of the Ministry of Health were not sufficient, instructing the public hospitals to practice the crime of abortion against children up to five months of gestation, recently the same Ministry announced the release of the use of an abortive known as " next day pill". It is not the first time that such a Ministry, abusing its attributions dares to authorize the practice of crimes against life. As early as 1984, the abortive IUD was released for public use.
An aggravating factor in this is that the Ministry of Health, wanting to circumvent the legislation, calls these substances and devices "post-coital contraceptives" or "emergency contraceptives", hiding their real effect is the induction of abortion in the early stages of pregnancy , which begins at conception and goes until the implantation of the child in the uterus. This is not just a crime against life but a stellarion against women, deceived by the fallacy that they would be using a contraceptive, when in fact they are using micro-abortives.
The purpose of this project is to combat this farce in the face of it and to enforce in practice the inviolability of the right to life guaranteed by the Federal Constitution (article 5 - caput), inviolability that exists from conception, even before being nested or implanted in the womb .
So, I count, however, first with the protection of God. Secondly, with the support of various Pro-Life movements scattered throughout the Country, whose impact on public opinion has become increasingly greater today. These include the National Association of Women for Life, an army of fierce defenders of intrauterine life, who explicitly repudiated the abortive "technical standard" of Minister José Serra
if you thought brazil couldn't get worse think again
1400 days left in this government
So will male masturbation become a nanoabortive process since you're wasting sperm?
Micro abortive
What a dumbass word and awful law
It's post conception
Hey you never know how far they'll take it.
those are potential babies so yes we must protect their rights before conception
women not getting pregnant on every egg are literal murders too
Conception starts at cummies
Sperm being reabsorbed into the body is GENOCIDE
ARREST ALL MEN
so basically what they're screaming here is "your body is not your own bitch"
politicians and their right to ruin life.
If you are a woman
YOU MUST ACCEPT THE BABY
YOUR ONLY USE IS AS A SPERM RECEPTACLE
SUBMIT FOR IMPREGNATION AT YOUR LOCAL FEMA SHELTER
"especially before implantation in the endometrium"
Pretty much would make IVF impossible. What kind of fucked up ethics do you have to have to think that there's something morally objectable about destroying a zygote preimplantation?
It's so strange to me that these zealots have walked back from their already absurd notion of life beginning at the "quickening" to this. For whom is this politically expedient?
Bolsonaro isn't leaving until he dies
People who want women stripped of all the power that control over their own reproductive cycle has given them. Basically sexist shitbirds.
evangelical extremists in brazil are extremely vile. i really despise them.
Will we see Brazil start jailing women when they spontaneously abort?
you might be joking about that but i legitimately wouldn't put it past them. unless women can spin up as "god decided that he wanted my baby to be with Him in heaven... 😔"
I lost multitudes of brain cells trying to comprehend "microabortive"
Oh my sweet summer child. This isn't a walking back at all. Fundamentalists evangelicals have believed life begins at conception since the mid 20th century. Why do you think they make such a stink about embryos being destroyed for scientific research? They literally want every fertilized egg to have the same rights as a newborn baby. And they believe enforcing this by law is perfectly reasonable, because once they get the theocratic state they so desperately desire, having sex outside of marriage (and for any reason other than child-bearing) will be illegal like it was in the good old days when the Israelites stoned people for being gay.
Meant it more in the sense that traditionally abortion was permitted up until the "quickening". It is weird seeing people try to retroactively change their church's opinion on the matter (Catholic Church in particular).
I didn't realize that Brazil had a fundie Evangelical circle. I always wonder if the people at the top in these circles actually believe this stuff or if it is just a tool for manipulating zealot proles.
holy shit
Criticado, deputado recua e pede retirada de PL 'anti
Deputy Márcio Labre (PSL-RJ) announced the withdrawal in the bill that foresaw and banned some of the most effective methods of contraception, such as the IUD and the morning-after pill. According to him, the text presented was a draft.
In a statement released on social networks, Labre apologized to the women and stated that the PL was mistaken because he "was beaten" among several other projects filed by him that same day, February 4.
The confusion, he said, "resulted in the entry of a project that, in addition to not representing me, does not represent thousands of women who have trusted in me."
As reported by CartaCapital, the bill suggested a total veto of "trading, advertising, distribution, or donation" of the morning-after pill, progestogen pills (so-called minipills), contraceptive implants and even the IUD ).
In the view of the deputy - who is a journalist - these methods would in fact be 'micro abortives'. The idea was the subject of a flurry of criticism and yielded comparisons with the Handmaids Tale series, which chronicles a dystopian future where women's reproductive rights become the property of a totalitarian state.
Despite the misunderstanding, he promises to present a more informed version of the bill, which he says is "to report on the effects of contraceptive drugs that are actually micro-abortive."
"In my understanding there is a lack of transparency and understanding on this issue," he says in the text.
everything is abortion, even wanking into your sock!
every sperm is sacred! every sperm is a child!
So are perioda considered abortion yet?
200 IQ move from a country where zika is still an issue.
care to elaborate on your contribution, friend
Sure. I think banning the day after pill and other similar contraceptives is a bad move anywhere, but particularly in a country where the incidence of microcephaly in newborns is slightly higher due to a certain virus, which is an added stress to a mother that might not have wanted to be a mother in the first place. Hope that clears it up.
thanks for clarifying.
counterpoint: but jesus tho
The worst part is most evangelicals don't realize the female body naturally aborts 50 percent of all fertilized embryos due to them not being viable and/or the body sensing via stress that times are too tough to be having babies. So yeah, even god himself is pro-birth control, if you believe he exists.
don't take this as objective evidence or representative of the entire population of br evangelicals, but i remember seeing someone once say that natural abortions were caused because of sin or because the woman was a slut, adulterous, etc
there are some real nutters out there
I mean, I totally believe it, given that some of them also claim that mental illness doesn't exist and the symptoms are a result of personal sin. One of the the worst things about christian fundamentalism is that, if the bible doesn't actually speak on a subject, they tend to assume it isn't actually a real issue and/or is just a product of sin. They base their entire faith on the bible being the absolute authority on EVERYTHING ever since it was written - nevermind all the pesky complications of modern day life two thousand fucking years later.
So, for instance: even though the bible says jack shit about when it is permissible for a woman to divorce her husband (because women were little more than property when it was written and didn't have that right at all), they extrapolate that the verse that says men can not divorce their wives for any reason other than adultery must also apply to women. And thus you get the wretched teaching in fundamentalist circles that women are required by god to stay with abusive husbands and attempt to get them to change their behavior.
Brazil needs to macro abort their government
