You all laugh but a few months ago it was reported that a couple was temporarily denied a marriage licence in DC because the clerk demanded to see a "New Mexico passport" because a state drivers' license wasn't sufficient for "international" ID.

The sadder part is NM recently adopted "Real ID", so when I had to renew my last license I needed to dig up all sorts of shit just to renew it.
