Conservatives just can’t seem to leave Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) alone. Fox Business responded to her proposed “Green New Deal” on Tuesday by once again attacking her,
instead of critiquing her ideas. This time, however, guest economist Peter Morici made the criticism blatantly racist.
“[Y]ou know, there’s ignorance, there’s willful ignorance, and then there’s willful and malicious ignorance — that is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” he said. “The left is just using global
warming, climate change, the environment as a stalking horse for socialism. They can’t take away all your money and accomplish this, but they will. That’s what this is about. She’s a
demagogue.”
“Basically what you have in Ocasio-Cortez are Latin American values,” he insisted. “Instead of us assimilating them, they are assimilating us. And they want to bring the kind of
socialism that destroyed Venezuela, and frankly Mexico, here. You know, it isn’t that we’re going to become Venezuela, but we could easily become Mexico, and you won’t be able to go
outside your door without getting shot.”
Contrary to Morici’s claim, Ocasio-Cortez was born and raised in New York City. Her family hails from Puerto Rico, which is also part of the United States. She has no apparent
connection to Latin America whatsoever, let alone specifically Mexico or Venezuela.

The goal is to turn Cortez into the new Hillary so that they can continue to rile up their base in the future after Clinton kicks the bucket.
Fox Business is so afraid of a Democrat that they have skipped over dogwhistles entirely and are now expressing open white supremacist talking points.
The issue with that strategy is that AOC has wide support among younger generations of liberals, which is basically the opposite of Hillary's circumstance. It's going to backfire on them, just like what happened with the left wing media's excessive coverage of Trump.

The really interesting part the commentator hasn't even got enough intelligence to suss out is his premise should be a sum benefit to republicans.
Hispanic conservatives are ULTRA fucking conservative, in a way white people have never even thought being about since the 30s. You go to church two or three times a week, this is not an option, you own a gun, this is not an option, and you don't mix races, this is not an option, and you don't help poor people because they're obviously just fucking lazy and therefore worthless to the society at large, and they have the migration and family work history to 'prove it'.
This guy has obviously only had contact with urban and belter hispanics from 3-5th gen on aka just plain old mutt flavored americans like everyone else, because rural 1st and 2nd gen hispanics. especially those from the lower states of mexico make Ronald Reagan look like Harvey Milk.

I've always said that if the GOP dropped the whole racism thing, they would probably win every election in America. There are tons and tons of very conservative minorities that vote straight Democrat because race issues.
My father-in-law is hispanic. He thinks the reason people are poor are just out of sheer laziness, thinks owning a gun is a right from God himself not the constitution, many other very hard right ideals.
And he hasn't voted for a Republican in his entire life.
The problem with that is a lot of these guys think the exact opposite, that racism is the single most important part of their political strategy and/or ideology and everything else is flexible.
Is there a word for when you are racist but have a fetish for the race you hate? Something tells me that it's a thing.
Vox Day is a noted white supremacist who developed an unusual adjustment to his racist beliefs after a completely concidental event in his life: His belief that whites are superior was adjusted to hold that asians were superior to whites who were superior to all others. He also got a hot Japanese girlfriend.

That's why its called the Southern Strategy, after all. Their key to winning elections since the sixties has been having the corner on voters who still hold a grudge a against Abraham Lincoln for freeing their ancestor's slaves. That's why any racial minority, no matter how economically and socially conservative they are, is STILL shooting themselves in the foot if they vote Republican.
FOX and the rich are acting like thieves who have just been caught in the midst of a crime.
