Is this the guy who kept escaping?
wow i cant believe this guy really tried to reenact that netflix series
We placing bets on whether or not he escapes again?
Jury found dead.
They should put him in a big cell in the middle of the room like Hannibal Lecter. Except suspend it from the ceiling so his posse can't tunnel him out again.
As far as I understand he was extradited to the US. Might not be so easy to escape from a US prison.
Probably gonna get sent up to the Supermax in Terre Haute and there is no way he’s getting out of there
In another piece of news (in Spanish), mention that it will be sent to ADX Florence prision
Yeah he's in American Prison now, the guards here won't be befriended nor intimidated.
I'd like to see his boys try to tunnel him out of that one. It's the most secure prison in the entire U.S. and where we keep the absolute worst of the worst. It's basically Alcatraz on steroids; the security is so tight that it's arguably inhumane.
What's stopping the mexican cartels invading the US to break him out
Like imagine they go to war and they use C4 to try and blast their way in
ADX Florence is around 400ish miles from the US-Mexico border. The amount of resources and manpower that'd be required to launch an insurgency that far into the US would absolutely not be worth it for the cartels. Bribery or other subterfuge tactics would be far more effective and he'd still likely be caught long before reaching the Mexico border if he did somehow escape.
I'm guessing either there's gonna be no jury or the jury's identities will remain completely protected.
ADX Florence is basically a fortress, due to some of the types of people it holds (terrorists, drug lords, traitors), it is designed to keep people out as much as in. High concrete walls, chainlink fences, motion dectors, and armed towers secure the perimeter from the outside. Inside ADX Florence a prisoner is usually alone in his cell, with the exception of the guards that bring him food or the 3 or more guards that take him to the yard. Some prisoners may have close friends or family come in supervised visits, and the Warden says he personally visits each prisoner every week, but otherwise they're usually solitary. The yard I mentioned is a few meters long and wide with concrete walls and a chain link roof so you cannot get your bearings, cells are designed so that nothing can be used for self-harm or escape, and they are cuffed and guarded when moving between them. Even meal plans are tailored so that nothing can be used for self-harm or making a mess, so no chicken bones or maple syrup. Lower security inmates are allowed more privileges, like going to a small cafeteria to eat with each other. Other privileges include a black and white TV with limited channels or month old magazines with articles regarding crime or terrorism cut out. ADX Florence is also near a military base, and in the completely infeasible event where security is overwhelmed, combat troops may act as reinforcements.
The one thing i'm worried about is what effects this will have on tourism, i'd imagine revenge attacks from the cartel will increase after his sentencing.
I can't imagine the repercussions the Mexican drug trade would have to endure from the US after that kinda move.
Via Wikipedia: Prisoners spend 23 hours a day in single, soundproof cells with facilities made of poured concrete to deter self-harm, and 24-hour supervision, carried out intensively with high staff-inmate ratios. Phones are generally banned and only limited broadcast entertainment permitted. After a 3-year sentence, prisoners may be transferred to a less restrictive prison. The aim is to encourage “reasonably peaceful behavior” from the most violent career prisoners.
Sounds like a worse alternative to the death penalty.
