so i need some help my rust keeps crashing, I have a 970m, i7600, 8gb. Everytime i try to join a server my game crashes mid loading. I have tried so many methods of fixing it for the last 2 weeks. Any help would be much appreciated. This game worked a year ago but now i crash when i try to join a server.
What are your virtual memory settings? This box (in Control Panel > system > advanced system settings > advanced > virtual memory) https://www.computerhope.com/issues/pictures/virtual-memory.jpg

Amazingly that's basically what I was going to make you do if you'd left it on system-managed or had it set below 16GB. So, next question, when you run Rust, are you shutting down memory-hungry programs like browsers before launching?
yes i close everything including discord and browsers.
Do you get any message when the game crashes?
no i just get a white screen sometime it kicks me to my desktop while the game is still open, but taskmanger shows it is not responding. Sometimes when i get a white screen it says " sorry rust is not responding"
Have you checked event viewer and see what the error says?
No but I will now
Go to %appdata%\LocalLow\Facepunch Studios LTD\Rust\Crashes\ See if there are any crash folders with datestamps matching the times the game's crashed in these recent incidents.
Ok i navigated to that folder when i got into the rust\crashes\ folder it was empty
That's really weird. Your physical RAM is at the minimum to run Rust, but your virtual memory settings should be more than enough to compensate. You've said you close RAM-hungry programs. There are no crashes. Huh. I'd like you to do the following steps in order, and test Rust after each step because once the problem stops you can stop trying steps. If it's still not working, obviously come back and say so. Verify Rust's files in Steam Launch Rust and open the server browser but then go away for 10 minutes before actually trying to join a server Make sure you have done your Windows Updates and there is nothing pending Repair (not uninstall; although if you get the option to reinstall that's okay) the Visual C++ redistributable runtimes in Control Panel > Programs and Features Also, try joining different servers, if you have been attempting to join the same server every time. If you have been joining different servers, well keep doing it.
I verified my rust files they dint show anything wrong i wait 10 minutes i have no updates installed i have a lot visual c++ redistribuitable things, idk which one im suppose to repair https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/419946/9b3cb10a-2b0b-4606-8c49-c5c73722bcb0/rust visual c.JPG
ok so i just went ahead an repaired them all just to be safe, i am still crashing
Huh... that's weird. Do you have any Citrix software installed?
