I think a "black market" was the exact, long term cause of his problem in the first place.
The principal completely misses the point that these N-word passes satirize the whole ridiculous debacle of white people saying "nigga". It's a call for tolerance, not racism. Not tolerance for people to shout "nigger" at one another of course, but it's about to stop making a social or racial issue out of it, and to learn to contextualize words.

Holy crap, I didn't even know these things were still considered legal tender in schools. Though I remember these being traded around in elementary school. It's amazing how right under the noses of all the adults, there is a legitimate "black market" of all kinds of goods and possible services. I remember back then that if you were the student with access to Gel Pens, STAEDTLER Mars Plastic, or Taco Bell Cinnamon Twists, then you had bank.
I guarantee these were counterfeits- legitimate n-word passed are only handed out for the greatest of deeds, such as saving Michelle Obama.
