Participation in Eurovision has nothing to do with being part of Europe; it's to do with the European (yeah, I know) Broadcasting Union. For reference, Canada & the US are associated members of this Union, as are Brazil, Australia, Libya, Japan and South Korea among many. So, theoretically, all of these countries could be part of Eurovision if they really wanted. If you're gonna complain about something, get it right.
IIRC it is an invite policy where non-European countries can be invited to participate.
Or maybe I'm confusing that with the Euro football cup.
Every time Eurovision gets brought up, there are always people asking "Why is x country in it they are not in Europe???"
It's tedious now.
