Part of the issue is that pharmaceutical companies and other medical companies legitimately do have issues and legitimately are too big for their own good. But vaccines are one of the things they do that are 100% good and 0% harmful. These people latch on to that as the issue, instead of stuff like certain drug costs being too high, exclusivity rights, no imports of drugs allowed, etc. And I'm sure most of them would scream at the thought of socialized healthcare or more drug regulations. my coworker has no hearing because he contracted one of these diseases as an infant, fuckoff with this belief that these things are innocuous, meningitis is literally an infection of the brain, its nearly impossible to contract that without brain damage of some kind, measels and mumps are increadibly contagious and only mass vaccination can prevent it from reaching the critical mass needed to become an outbreak and the fucking evangelicals will clutch their bibles shouting about religious freedom and tyranny.
