Where are you getting the generators?
In this server (Bob the builder) you can spawn them in. I usually play in the Rusty modded servers, they occasionally drop in barrels/crates. Can't say for vanilla as I'm not sure. This system works with wind turbines+batteries as well I just prefer the generator as its always 100 power.
Have you a tutorial on how to use Solar during the day and Battery at night by chance?
