Here's What US Lobbyists Want Donald Trump To Get From A Post Changing how NHS chiefs buy drugs to suit big US pharmaceutical companies Britain scraps its safety-first approach to safety and food standards  Law changes that would allow foreign companies to sue the British state Removal of protections for traditional British products.  Weaken data protection for consumers  Allow new genetically-modified foods to be sold with minimal regulation Get rid of Britain’s safety-first approach to chemicals  Ignore the presence hormones and pus in dairy products  Allow politicians, not courts, to handle legal disputes  Lift the UK ban on a growth hormone in pork More antibiotics in livestock  Eliminate UK testing for a parasitic worm in pork Dump law against chlorine-bleached chicken Legalise dangerous pesticides Let fruit and veg be sold with pesticide residue on Allow more carcinogens in pistachios  Loosen regulation on direct selling  A big shift on the definition of standards Scrap the ‘Amazon Tax’ Allow untested medical devices into the UK Change how the NHS prices US drugs Make the NHS pay as much as possible for new equipment Fuck brexit, fuck brexiteers and fuck radical american neoliberalism
TAKING ARE COUNTRY BACK! Holy shit I have no idea why anyone still wants to go through with this, Brexit is going to make everything so much worse for absolutely no gain what so ever. Every day that this shit draws closer I become more and more stunned that nobody is stepping up to prevent it.
US lobbyists need to take a long walk off a short pier in shark-infested waters.
I saw a post online where someone said the tories are doing what they are because the country will forgive them for no deal faster than they would forgive them for no brexit. Party before country once again.
fucking criminals.
Can these people be arrested yet? I dont think following any laws is going to help
its Ok because 'everybody knows regulations are bad for business!' and britain is all about business not say...protecting consumers or affordably providing healthcare to the public....in fact I hear the 'everybody knows' or 'common sense' justification tossed about a lot these days in an age of absolute polarization. No, not everybody agrees with you, actually take the time to figure out where everybody stands on something before making your judgement, not making a judgement and trying to find evidence to support it.
How about fuck off. These are horrible.
Holy shit, that list looks like fucking terrorist organization tier threats. "If you don't do what we ask you we'll put pus in your dairy, carcinogens in your pistachios and poison you with pesticides." Except here they're fucking demands.
Ignore the presence hormones and pus in dairy products Excuse me, pus? Is this a thing?
Pus from over milking, the udders get all scabby and crusty Hormones coz american companies don't give a fuck about food standards
Our future as Airstrip One is looking great.
The disturbing thing is that if a no-deal Brexit goes through, it's likely the UK government will cave on a significant number of these demands.
They are probably not expecting to get all of these, I'd reckon they are just asking for everything they want and seeing what they can get. Even so, this is beyond disgusting. The very idea of a corporation suing a government should result in their assets being seized by said government for their arrogance. Do everything in your power against Brexit and it's result guys, you can turn this around.
Corporations suing governments isn't bad per se, say for example nepotism in a government procurement contract resulted in a legitimately better bid being dropped in favour of overpriced shite from some MP's brother or something. What makes this particular one terrible is the idea of corporations suing the government merely for a loss of profits e.g. due to a new law requiring better safety equipment for employees. That would effectively mean corporations could block progress on workers' rights, environmental protection, consumers' rights and so on for muh profits.
I'd rather starve.
We really need a better government to stand against this.
Honestly makes me want to go Vegan if this shit goes through.
These demands are very similar to the TTIP conditions which the British government under Cameron were happy to accept. Post no deal brexit the UK will be in a weaker negotiating position (meaning less power to dictate terms) and members in government in favour of this type of shit Eg Jacob Reece-Mogg are more prominent with more power. It might seem like a lot to ask but we've seen a prototype of this; and the EU nations (France's left wing gov at the time and some Balkan country I think) was the only thing saving British citizens from it. Post brexit we'll have the sovereignty(tm) to give over our sovereignty to US corporate vultures.
I have heard so, which makes it even more imperative that you oppose brexit and vote for a new government should no deal go through.
Jesus christ, edibles will be a deathtrap no matter where you go.
Absolutely fucking knew it. Right up the Tories alley, but I don't know why Jeremy cumrags is still gunning on with thinking this is acceptable and being firmly against ref2.
Coz he's either naive as fuck or scared of taking a side because it'll make a bunch of people hate him
He's an opportunist. He's got his vanguard of loyal followers willing to fight for him in the name of socialism. Post-Brexit turmoil will offer him the Petri-dish he needs to enact his socialist utopia.
Because it's fucking stupid. Anyone who thinks Ref2 is even slightly viable are just hoping against hope. Only 10 Tory MPs are estimated in total by the BBC to back a ref2, at best. Some of Corbyn's front bench will rebel if he backs Ref2. The North, which is Labour's bread and butter, massively backed Brexit and would feel betrayed by Labour if they went for ref2. If he backed ref2, it would increase right wing extremism across the board too. For ref2 to be something Corbyn can reasonably go for, he'll need EVERY single Labour MP and every other non Tory, non DUP MP to back him and enough Tory MPs to do so. There's already too many Labour MPs willing to revolt against Corbyn if he did back it to make it impossible without a massive Tory rebellion, which again will never happen. Ref2 is virtually impossible. People need to stop blaming Corbyn for a situation the Tories have made themselves and the North who support Brexit to their dying breath. Why should Corbyn commit to Ref2 when many Labour MPs won't? Let alone enough Tory MPs. It's just not possible. Corbyn's playing it the best he can. Soft as hell brexit in the customs union, we'll minimize the damage Brexit can cause and any social unrest brought with it. The EU also like and praised him for his proposed deal. Also if you think Corbyn is okay with American corporatism, you'll be dead wrong.
Those points makes Americans sound like filthy orcs. What's up with all the gross and unsustainable shit. Money?
I mean, it is no fun when you answer your own question.
Man, all this sovereignty sure feels like getting fucked in the ass.
Is there even a chance for no brexit at this point?
Short of is launching the entire Tory party, a significant chunk of Labour and whatever remains of UKIP into the sun? No. Not really. May is running down the clock at this point. Her deal is sub optimal in so many ways. But I think it's be safer than no deal at all by a wide margin. But with her trying to push it to the last minute to scare MPs into voting for her deal, we may well accidentally end up with no deal at all. Anyone who still supports Brexit needs to be barred from voting ever again. Clearly it's too much for them to research shit instead of just listening to pundits and Thunderbirds puppets made mortal.
