Just because the Nintendo Switch is handheld doesn't mean Nintendo's let go of their precious, successful handheld child, the Nintendo 3DS. Touting two screens and a glasses-less 3D gimmick, the 3DS is still alive and well. There are three families of the 3DS line: 2DS, 3DS, and New 3DS. New Nintendo 3DS features improved 3D, more buttons, and doubled processing power to support higher-spec games.

I have to wonder if SquareEnix re-releasing FF7 and FF9 on Switch was a subtle burn on Nintendo.
Nintendo releases NES games for digital download. SquareEnix releases PS1 games for digital download. The only remaining excuses for why Nintendo can't offer SNES/N64/Gamecube/literally-any-portable games on the Switch VC service are that licensing the games for re-release (if not first-party) and perfecting an emulator for them on the Switch would not be cost-effective for projected return, and possibly that they have a more lucrative idea of re-selling the same games to you for the third or fourth time instead.
We get FF7 and 9 but not 8? That makes me sad because 8 is my fav and first FF game ever 8 never gets any love.
Square lost the source code for FF8, which is why we haven't seen any rerelease with those fancy stuff they added to FF7. The "closest" we got was on the PC but that one needs you to log into whatever the fuck square enix network and that doesn't even work.
Our favorite no coin/lowest score nsmbud runner made a video on the mario maker 2 trailer.

I'm really excited for mario maker 2 not being just a port. I played the 3ds version but that one sucks. Plus a new one being released means simpleflips will do more mario maker race streams.
Keep in mind the FF7 and 9 ports on Switch and Xbox are based on the iPhone version, bugs and all.
Honestly I would have been totally fine with a straight port of MM with just slopes added, but they know there was so much stuff we wanted. As long as we'll be able to place water/lava it'll be perfect for me. That, and maybe the athletic theme. The fact that they started the trailer with slopes shows they were paying attention.
it'd be crazy if they did something like letting you pick characters from other games on certain themes. Letting you pick Metroid 1 Samus for SMB1 themes or Zelda 2 Link for SMB3. If they're giving creators the option of choosing a character that their levels have to be played with, it wouldn't be too out of the question to include something like that.
Tetris 99 is way too addicting

The tiniest change but it looks so much better.
From the trailer what I spotted was 4 new Backgrounds: Desert, Snow, Forest and Night. Didn't spot Athletic but the night theme might be it for older style like SMW. I'm still hoping for some small things like able to choose the song of your choosing for the background (Ghost theme in the Night background) or a more robust music creation. also Chargin' Chuck for SMW.
There's a possibility that when we see the new wind blowing enemy in the underground background, that actually might be a tease for vertical stages.
Even if none of those things are in when it releases, they might add them later in content updates, but we have a few months before release so we'll see.
I'm hoping they add game boy and All Star palettes for the different game types
If Luigi is indeed playable, I'm hoping they used the SMW sprite of Luigi which was only ever showed in the All-Stars version of SMW.

I wonder how that'll perform and what the graphics would be like.
For real. Visually, the Witcher 3 is extremely dense. I feel like it would take miracles upon miracles to get it to look anywhere near as great as it usually does running at 30 FPS on the Switch. The thing is powerful for its size to be sure, but TW3 is one of the most impressive-looking games of the last several years. I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but if that's what they're going for, then good fucking luck.
Let's not.
Either it'll rival Powerpoint presentations in terms of framerate or it'll take a MASSIVE blow to the visuals department.
The Switch has been out for a while which has given developers more time to work with and optimize for the hardware. 360 launch titles for example looked like garbage compared to games that came out some years later. I don't know what's going through the minds of CPR but I don't think they would push out a game that runs at 10fps 480p. With that said, I'm sure it'll look like absolute shit in handheld mode at the very least.
ASTRAL CHAIN | PlatinumGames Inc. Official WebSite
The Ark: A massive, prosperous, multicultural city. But disaster strikes when mysterious dimensional gates appear, bringing dangerous alien creatures to the Ark to attack the people and corrupt the land. The Ark police form a special task force, known as Neuron, to face the alien threat head-on.
Humanity’s last chance against invasion is a special living weapon called the Legion. As a rookie Neuron officer, you and your Legion will work together to solve cases and save humankind.
ASTRAL CHAIN gives you full control over two characters at once for thrilling Synergetic Action, courtesy of PlatinumGames. Switch between several Legion types and skills to save the world your way.
ASTRAL CHAIN features character designs by the acclaimed mangaka Masakazu Katsura (ZETMAN, Video Girl Ai), and marks the directorial debut of PlatinumGames’ Takahisa Taura (designer of NieR:Automata). Hideki Kamiya, director of Bayonetta and writer/supervisor of Bayonetta 2, provides supervision.
Everytime I doze off on a slow day at work I play a round of Tetris 99 and let the anxiety wake me up.
It works out pretty well actually
Threadly reminder that part of my soul died with the Wii U.
I can't wait for Astral Chain.
Looks like the child of Vanquish and MGR: Revengeance with some Nier "humanity/what is hooman!? plot stuff" and cheese from Bayo/Wonderful 101.
Man... now I want W101 on Switch. Hopefully it happens one day. I bet it requires quite the overhaul because of it used the Wii U screen quite a few times.
Last Stop Before Treasure Trove | Yacht Club Games
Physical Edition, amiibos and King of Card delayed.
They want everything to be in the physical version (makes sense) and it's mostly polishing according to them. Mid Summer is my guess now.
I swear those amiibos were already out.
I have a friend who is a PlatinumGames fangirl
She hates the game because the main characters are cops
Hahahaha
Hahaha
In other news Astral Chain is gonna own so I'm excited to try it out. Character design is a bit... xenoblade-y though. Like the models kinda look budget but it's finee
