i don't know how well known this particular corner of the internet is but i grew up playing the games on DAN-BALL, powder game and stick ranger in particular, and it happens that recently a neato sequel was begun and is being updated regularly like the old one.

Oh shit, I remember the falling sand games and stick ranger and such. I remember all those crazy mods and stuff they made, too. God, they got so complicated. I miss them.
