read the article. the person who wrote the article is speculating based on what their "sources" are saying. this isn't officially confirmed, and there's no concrete evidence that suggests this is true. it's all hearsay.
Ah, yes. Video game journalist where """sources""" can be a random tweet with 4 replies and 10 followers.
I'm gonna need more proof than that. It'd be weird to see though.
Extremely doubtful. Platinum have their hands full with three games as it is - Bayonetta 3, Astral Chain and Babylon Fall.
Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Dead Phonenix, MegaMan Legends 3 and Silent Hills all have about as good of a chance as being picked up again as Nintendo exclusives as Scalebound does.
Wrong, my sources tell me its going to be resurrected for an exclusive on the Vita.
My sources tell me it'll be Ouya exclusive.
bleem! is coming back as a Switch exclusive. You heard it here first, folks!
As much as I love Platinum, I never had and never will have any hype for the possibility of this game until I am given proof that the main character is being completely revised. In what we saw he was pure, distilled vanilla "rebellious" punk teen. If someone told me he was the direct result of a mandate by Microsoft to create the safest main character I'd completely believe it, he stood out so little to me.
If you're hyped for this game then think again because no actually you are just stupid
It was kinda disappointing when this game got cancelled since it seemed pretty coo-
I mean bad!
I won't say it didn't look cool as shit because it definitely did
It's just that so many games that canceled, most of the time you never even hear about them
i always get this game confused with that middleware that devs use to make uis in flash, scaleform
That'd be funny for M$ to realize they could be a better game distributor than just a console developer with their massive catalogue of studios and IPs, and it would be a smart business decision from a corporate shareholder perspective since the switch doesn't directly compete with microsoft's xbox properties.
"Let me hint at something I guess... cause like this is a thing that I'm going to write up at some point as I get more sources on it, but there's a game that's thought to be dead that Nintendo is reviving and it's not one that people would be expect like it was very much a title that was like dead and buried very officially cancelled. It might actually be at the direct I don't know for sure, but I've heard enough about this game that I'm not sure exists again."
37:20 of that kinda funny games vid wrenched in there
"Wow that's really cool". - other guy in the reference video
This can be LITERALLY anything. I cannot believe I wasted 10 minutes looking up the "hint" Senior editor Imran Khan dropped on the youtube vid referenced from "Kinda funny games". Although maybe I don't feel so bad because I have nothing better to do with my time.
cool kiddo
heh
heh
It's kinda telling that when I told this to my friends, the vast majority of them responded with "what, why?"
I thought Scalebound could've been neat, but I won't deny the way the game was presented just felt kinda off compared to what Platinum usually produces. Given that it was apparently cancelled because MS kept having Kamiya compromise on his vision of the game, maybe having it under Nintendo could remedy that.
Admittedly though, that narrative goes against the recent narrative of MS apparently being completely "hands off" when it comes to funding developers though. So either that was a recent change to how MS conducts business, or there were some culture differences or whatnot that resulted in Kamiya and MS clashing.
All I know is, the game is gonna have to be scaled down massively if it's gonna be a Switch game now. The demos we saw of the game already ran like hot ass on the Xbone X.
Scaledown
This was the first thing I thought of when I heard the rumors a week or so ago, but.... I honestly doubt it. I really wish it would be, but I doubt it.
I thought Microsoft owned Scalebound?
Scalebound's lead producer and former Platinum Games dev also weighed in on this

still nothing concrete, granted, but not like this story was built off anything concrete to begin with, either.
Maybe not Scalebound itself, but there is word going around that Nintendo and Microsoft are working together on something:
