Adelaide pilot leaves 'I'm bored' message and graffiti on flight radar

An Adelaide pilot has taken workplace venting to new heights by etching "I'm bored" into the sky.
The Diamond Star plane, operated by Flight Training Adelaide, spent a little over three hours in the air on Tuesday to draw the letters over South Australia.
The message was not seen by people on the ground, but was visible to aviation followers watching live flight tracking programs and websites.
It is believed the pilot, who was working out of Parafield Airport, north of Adelaide, was "running in" a new engine.
The FlightAware website captured the pilot's work between 8:53am to 11:57am.
The pilot flew several loops, creating some somewhat explicit graffiti along the coast, before tracing "I'm bored" over the Princes Highway.
Retired Qantas A380 pilot Chris Wilson said he thought the message was "harmless".
"It's not very common for someone to do this. It's the first one I've seen," Mr Wilson said.
"I think it's a harmless pursuit. He obviously is bored.

You mean penises.
Art by aircraft, nice
When I flew to Florida in 2011 I guess we had to wait a while for a landing slot or whatever and the pilot fucking went for it

Jesus that's one absolute legend
I hope nothing bad happens to the pilot, this is completely harmless and all in good fun. He's obviously pretty skilled because God damn look how crisp those letters are and how penisy the penis is.
That kicks ass
running a flight test and this aircraft was the test item carrier. We told them over the radio to orbit for a bit, but I don't think they
There was once someone creating a christmas tree over germany as part of a testflight.

I remember that last year there was a test flight over the USA with one plane spelling BOEING or something similar.
Wait that was real?! I saw that flight path image the other day and assumed it was made up for laughs!
No apostrophe smh what a failure
That's some good flying. It's written out pretty damn well and clear, and 2 bonus penises. Absolute mad lad.
Boredom in pilots is actually a huge risk; automated flights have basically created a generation of pilots who need automated flying or get severely confused and terrible st flying.
There's a huge amount of recurrent training that all commercial pilots have to do, not to mention that most aircraft still require pilots to land and takeoff manually, which are the most demanding parts of the flight. And the pay is getting better pretty quickly too, since the pilot shortage is already here and affecting some companies. I was talking with a recruiter for United Express the other day and as a regional airline, their pay starts at $60,000 a year.
But I can't contest to the boredom. I'm having to fly a crapton of cross country flights in a tiny 172 for my commercial rating, and it might be even worse than an airliner because I can't even get up from my seat midflight. Half the time I'm just spotting landmarks and fucking around with the MFD.
Its good to hear about the pay! I'm glad that's at least getting better.
part of becoming a fully licensed pilot in the US at least means you have to be able to fly exclusively with the data the instruments provide
This isn't the case anymore. It never really was an issue with the mainline legacy carriers but regional pilots were getting screwed. Hard.
In a way they're still getting the shit end of the stick but conditions and pay for regional pilots has improved tenfold
Yeah, I'll be trying for the regionals when I get my ATP sometime late this year. Either that, or I go part 135 cargo if a spot opens up at another place I'm looking at.
Nice man! Keep it up. I drew a few dicks in the sky when I was a bored instructor
