Trump's already declared he'd veto it.
If he succeeds then the precedent is set for the next Democrat President to do anything they want and just ignore Congress by declaring emergencies. Great, I'm sure Republicans will be so pleased that breaking the seal on this most nuclear of nuclear options was done for the most important thing in the world, a stupid fucking wall that may not even be a wall but a fence because Trump's description changes every time he retells it.
It’s like they blew their entire massive, decades long load on a vanity project for a Russian blackmailed Oompa Loompa.
I've heard the argument that Dems wouldn't abuse the national emergency like this even if the Republicans did. I'm thinking maybe that argument that the Dems are too scared to do it emboldened the GOP to sit back and watch what happens in this case.
