$179 compared to $109 for the 1050...
what the fuck is nvidia doing
What the fuck are they thinking with these naming schemes
What the fuck is this naming scheme....
Nvidia wants AMD to win
Wait, what is launching when???
What, where did the 6 come from?
They had such a logical naming scheme before, what the fuck is this
Just call it the 2050, jesus christ
To think, someone actually gets payed a lot of money to figure out these brain dead naming schemes that companies adopt.
Kingdom Hearts names make more sense than this
wait did i just miss like 6 gpu generations? we're in 2019 right?
GTX 3650/2 Final Spin
In a world where NVIDIA is dominating the sales, I think they realized that they can just do whatever the fuck they want in terms of naming and people will buy it anyway.
AMD, just please come out with a GPU this year that supports DXR and undercuts NVIDIA. Don't even care if it performs worse than your Radeon VII, just undercut NVIDIA.
this'd make sense if they were striving for 1690 but they never do xx90 cards so it doesn't make sense
gtx be like

this is our new logo
No rtx = 16/18
I’m so hyped for the rumored Nvidia 1048271849 card
I'm guessing they were leaving room to make a GTX 1670 and GTX 1680 that were closer to the RTX 2070 and 2080 but without raytracing or tensor cores, if they felt like it, without creating the confusion that GTX 20x0 vs RTX 20x0 would've created, (A: What card do you have? B: Oh, a 2070! A: ..which one?) but it would still betray widespread adoption of raytracing.
At least the number lies somewhere between 10xx and 20xx, very roughly indicating its relative position in the market. There is no forgiveness deserved for NVIDIA's previous sacrilegious naming scheme of the brand new refresh of the 8800 series: the 8800 series, except it's also the 9800 series when you deem it to be powerful enough to be worthy of a new designa- oh...

Its like they hired gmod map decompilers to choose the naming scheme
No RTX should have been 11xx.
Current names for people not keeping track.
1xx > 2xx > 3xx > 4xx > 5xx > 6xx > 7xx > 9xx > 10xx > 20xx > 16xx????
Maybe it's actually just a bunch of 16 bit processors linked together.
this is quite disgusting
No thanks, Nvidia. RX 5xx series are still the best in price/performance ratio. And I'm pretty sure the same will apply to new lineup of Navi cards.
looking at the performance, the 1660Ti pretty much beats the RX 590, plus it’s cheaper.
I like AMD too, but Polaris is showing its age big time. It’s been three years since the 480 and we have only seen refreshes and overclocks.
I didn't mean the 590 necessarily. 570 still doesn't have any substitute for it's price. 1650 could be the one, but Nvidia clearly blew it. And 1060 3GB is barely on par with 570, plus lack of extra gigabyte of VRAM causes stutters in games like AC Odyssey.
But of course, Polaris is indeed getting old, with it's roots coming since 2012 and first GCN cards. So I would instead wait for Navi. AMD has the perfect chance to strike with low prices and decent performance.
Legit, the RX 590 is the most bang for the buck right now
They are just getting overconfident.
If we were talking about a generic numbered product line, sure; but what we're discussing is a card line whose naming conventions are based on European Penis Compensation Vehicle of the Italian and German Variety, hence the 16, and if there's flagship version bereft of cores next time, it'll be 18 or 38.
I wonder if it's just they're planning on having only 4 series (16-19xx) without ray-tracing before all their cards will have it by default.
