Xbox 2π
Feels a little soon to be talking about a new console generation, honestly
The console generation started in 2013. The previous one started in 2005. It's been 6 years, historically the generations of consoles are divided by 5-6 years.
So not really, this is typical.
It just feels that way because the 7th Gen was absurdly long and skewed expectations. It used to be a game generation was 3-4 years, 6 years is perfectly reasonable.
I feel like this is because this gen didn't have anything mindblowing, no "landmark" games that define the gen. It just felt like a slightly prettier 7th gen, at least in my opinion.
I just hope they expand their "Play anywhere" program. Fuck, I'd me love some Halo on PC.
Afaik their plans are every first party title will be on PC as well
I'd say the current console gen is confusing due to PS4 Pro and XBox One X re-releases, instead of just doing the usual Fit release.
Also how there are no special things. PC has been going so strong right now with no real specials on consoles. The Switch is the only thing that is different from an usual console.
I feel like I've been hearing this rumor since 2012
I mean it's not really a rumor when most of their first party games are both pc and xbone?
It's not a rumour, Phil Spencer himself has said he sees Xbox as a platform separate from the physical machines and that PC is part of that. Halo Infinite is coming to PC on release.
if they do this there's only one option

NVMe drives are getting cheap pretty fast. So I don't see any reason for next gen not to have them. They are going to be even cheaper for Microsoft due to the volume discount.

I feel dumb for hoping my 3770k will manage 30 FPS for the start of the next generation. But goddamn, i wish!
I'm sorry but what is an nvme drive? i'm a bit slow with technology lol
It's like an SSD except it connects to the PCIe interface allowing higher bandwidth speeds than SATA.
XBox Assemble.
Also NVMe drives usually refer to the ones in the new M.2 form factor, which are really small and slot directly into a new kind of port right on your motherboard.

Though some M.2 drives are still SATA, and you can also get NVMe drives in the traditional form factor by using another new type of connector, the U.2 cable. SATA's starting to get phased out.
Doesn't help that we had the 'refresh' pro versions midway through.
