Any info on what might have caused it?
Not sure. Weather seemed not unusual https://twitter.com/mattlanza/status/1099399548986974213?s=19
We don't even know what happened to the Malaysian flights - it's unfortunate, but we probably won't know 'til black boxes are found.
Brief update: https://twitter.com/12NewsNow/status/1099430931272814592?s=19 Seen some tweets that remains have been recovered.
aw fuck. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210475/10355d5a-1782-45a1-ae47-8de9b7dc63b9/image.png last 3 minutes of flight show a sharp descent. up to 7000 ft/min starting at 3,000
Imagine checking the status of your Amazon package and it saying "DELAYED - PLANE CRASH"
That does not look like a healthy descent
It's greatly condensed in that chart. The plane didn't get to altitude like a rocket ship. But the radar tracking shows it moving relatively little across the ground while the altitude plummeted.
