https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-jr-us-president-2024-election-republican-candidate-instagram-story-a8793886.html?utm_source=reddit.com Donald Trump Jr has hinted he could run for president in 2024. The incumbent US leader’s eldest son posted an Instagram story showing another user mentioning his name in answer to a question about potential Republican candidates in five years’ time. Mr Trump made no additional comment indicating his opinion, but it follows increasing speculation that he is planning to follow in his father's footsteps by entering US politics. His relationship with Donald Trump has already seen him join the family business and appear as an adviser and judge on The Apprentice reality TV show. The father-of-five spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention and has expressed an interest in running for governor of New York state. Mr Trump has also been a strong supporter of his father’s policies on social media, while repeatedly attacking Democrats, journalists and the Mueller investigation into possible Russian interference in the presidential election.
Well there is nothing stopping a felon from being president, so he is welcome to run when his jail sentence ends
Pretty sure one can actually campaign from federal prison, iirc someone tried back in the ~40s
Can't say I'm surprised; it's always felt like the unspoken implication was that the Trumps wanted to become an actual dynasty and this is just following along those lines. Let's pray it doesn't actually come to light.
with republicans pining for a king I could see it happening
Would the SS be obligated to get the President out if he won?
hes right, he totally could doesn't mean he'll win after his clown club is in prison lmao

By 2052 they could clone trump and do it all over again!
I will be very unsuprised, if superbly diehard Trump supporters who against this dynasty politics, will "suddenly" flipped the script on favoring it. And only if Trump will endorse his son's presidency in between 2022 to 2024.
ah yes because the last continuation of a political dynasty worked out so well
I know "he's too ridiculous to win" is the philosophy which got broken by Donald's win, but in terms of Jr, I think he has absolutely no chance. He lacks the charisma and star power that his father does. I feel in terms of a Trump dynasty, the one people should be scared of is Ivanka, because I feel she unfortunately has a chance.
He can never run a country, he's too busy making sure that his tongue doesn't touch anything in his mouth.
Hard no. Policies and political party aside I am sick of political dynasties running the country. The Bush family, the Clinton family, the Trump family... we keep gravitating towards dynasties whose rule the Founding Fathers rebelled against.
B-b-but what happened to wanting political dynasties out of the White House?!? 😱
I honestly believe the average American is actually dumb enough to let this happen. I personally blame the lead in the water.
he'd have to run on a platform of being slightly worse than his father who's the greatest president who ever lived...
first see about running for your own life before you think about running for president. even if mueller cant get dear old dad, you're not going to escape from him.
It's possible that Mueller does not have any darts to throw directly at Don Jr. or Jared Kushner, but that doesn't leave them safe. State charges can happen as well. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/02/22/if-mueller-is-done-states-could-file-their-own-charges-even-against-trump/
Couldn't they make an amendement that prohibits this sort of thing? Like a 20 year minimum period between family members running for President?
Neither party would want it, though. Remember, the DNC wanted H. Clinton as early as 2008 - they just didn't anticipate that a one time senator from Illinois would appear out of nowhere and dominate the primaries.
It's kind of unreasonable at face value to deny someone to run for office because of other people with the same name have already been in that office. I agree that political dynasties are stupid, but legally and fairly, I don't think it would be possible to outlaw or prohibit.
What a little bitch. He should run this election cycle if he thinks he's got the balls for it. Ursurp your father, worm. Prove your prowess by defeating him in electoral combat! This is all obviously a joke and I wouldn't wish a reality with Don Jr. as president upon my worst enemies.
our schools are sometimes very bad
