Doesnt have 8 cameras though. 0/10
If I wanted a chinese backdoor for that price I'd order a house from Alibaba
I wonder how much of the tech that went into this is stolen.
Yikes and its from Huawei.
It's not stolen! It's... appropriated!
Probably all of it. Fuck Huawei.
Imagine paying the price of a good new used car for a botnet phone.

great deal but you gotta buy 5
Not a true foldable phone if I can't fold it 1000 times. Next.
Honestly, as much bootleg shit comes out of China, it boggles my mind that major manufacturers still entrust their blueprints and designs over there.
U.S phones suffer from the same issue, so I guess it's the same.
I love how pompous and grandiose all new phone reveal videos are. They try to outdo eachother every year in that department.
The tech is cool but no one needs this
they have some kind of cover for it apparently to stop that happening
Can someone explain the foldable phone fad to me? I remember watching a video a while ago regarding the FlexPai, and I remember it being stated that the number of folds the phone can do was around 200,000 times. It seems odd to me that people are paying so much (€2000???) for something that is only bound to get worn out way more than a normal phone would?
Folding it 50 times/day would give it a lifetime of 11 years so I'm not really concerned about it whatsoever.
probably no overlap between the people who will pay $2000 for a phone and people buying used cars for $2000
You would be fucking surprised.
Everything but the hinge
Honestly, if it was the same pricepoint as a S9 and wouldn't have potential durability issues I would buy it just to reduce the amount of things I have to carry. They're a phablet without the form factor of one and the utility of a full-sized tablet. It's gonna overpriced crap for the next few years, but I really do see these blowing up in popularity once they get cheaper.
3 generations from now this is gonna be pretty neat, especially once other manufacturers hop on the train
low income families pay more for more expensive designer gadgets and clothing than high income families do
I don't think this is necessarily true. They probably spend a higher % of their income in designer gadgets tho.
All things said, I gotta admit it's fucking gorgeous.
iirc i did hear some screen tech stuff (most likely the folding) got stolen from samsung in china i think
Why... Would you carry a phablet? That fad was awful. What does a phablet do a regular phone doesn't?
errr, I've seen people complain they can't buy milk for their kids but still can afford the pack of cigs also seen people who keep buying expensive used cars, new iPhones and expensive clothes, and just random shit that costs more than a very nice dinner, on 10k/y income People find ways I guess...
yes.
