It would be better if Venezuela ousted Maduro (in any way) on their own with minimal US intervention than anything I'm sure Trump is planning on.

I still can't tell if he quoted it intending for it to be as a warning against socialism or if he's saying "the socialists and the true fascists you see"
Either way he's stupid. He's either quoting and possibly admiring a guy that is responsible for the deaths of upwards to 60k Americans defending what America was founded on/stands for, or failing at basic politics thinking authoritarianism = fascism by default.
His intention is clearly to draw a vague comparison between large government, regulations, and socialists (read:liberals) and Mussolini and not to borrow from him.
As someone who would never "forget" or "never learn" history, I am sure he knows who it was organized, resisted, mutually aided the Allies, and ultimately killed Mussolini.
